Weird deflection from your statement that Brian Kelly had "never won shite."

Yeah sorry winning a division doesn't elevate you from shite. Just like winning a MAC championship in 2006

We're talking things that actually matter

True, Ed O never did that or more.

Ed O had 3 winning seasons in 8 as a full-time head coach. That’s less than good.

The "reality" is he won the west in year 1 at LSU. I'm sure you predicted that, right?

I wonder if he'll soar to the heights McElwain did

Things that actually matter are redefined constantly based on whatever conclusion people are trying to prove. Kelly won 2 Big East titles too, but we won’t count those either because they weren’t SEC titles. He also spent 12 years coaching at a school not in a conference, so we’ll ignore that as well.

Didn't say he was great. Still won more hardware in p5 than Kelly in decades.

That's the point.

You HOPE he'll turn the corner. To finally not by the guy that gets steamrolled by the only non bowl eligible team at the end of the season.

But that would require a 60 year old to have an epiphany. I don't see it, but again it's your job as a fan to do so.

I think all the talent at the skill positions means jack shite if you lose the fight up front.

And winning the fight up front means jack shite if you don’t have skill players who put the ball in the end zone which is why Iowa is 7-5 or 8-4 every year. To win at an elite level, you need balance throughout your position groups.

Probably not. He's got an A&M game in him almost every season.

What academically disadvantaged programs did McElwain bring from the depths before arriving at UF? How many scholarship players were on the squad prior to his arrival?

I doubt you'd trade one actual title for scores of imaginary, hopeful ones.

Good thing the playoffs are expanding to twelve teams.

No I wouldn’t trade a national title but I was happy to trade Ed for Kelly after Ed reverted back to his mean

Because O was coaching at LSU and Kelly wasn't.

It's clear that LSU as a program elevates its head coaches.
