I am insinuating that since all the white athletes were able to graduate...it paints AU in some form of poor academic light.

Never knew that graduating players could be a negative thing.

But like you guys say...had we had a lower rate for teh white players, then the disparity would be lessened.

It can easily be assumed taht there are vastly fewer white players than black players on AU's team, thus making a 100% grad rate easier to obtain for that group than it is for teh other group.

This "disparity" argument would hold more water is the number of players where more even.

Again, 100 or more teams have similar ratios, yet Au has the 2nd highest discrepency of them all. A discrepency that is higher than the actual percentage of black athletes graduating. Coming from a school, that has students that enjoy partying in black face, it would be just as easy to assume another reason. And as I stated earlier, it easily opens up a chance to continue to oversign players to the pace Auburn has, which is much larger than all other SEC schools.

Are you suggesting that Auburn has a statistically significantly fewer number of white athletes than other universities similarly situated geographically?

I am suggesting that AU has a significantly lower number of white athletes as compared to its black athletes.

Would you agree that this is the case at almost every university in (at least) the south eastern United States?

and again...had fewer players graduated the percentages would be more in tune to those other schools.

Overall

Au 63%
Bama 67%
Lsu 67%

Hell, even Miss St is graduating more players.

Of course. That is why the disparity is very high at all the SEC schools.

Unfortuantely for AU, their white palyers must just be smarter.

-note to self-Hey dummy if yo are going to look at nubmers...look at the correct column

I think he meant the disparity would be more in line with that of other universities.

We can only pray for more dumb white athletes to lower that rate then.

Au and UGA both have 77% grad rates for their team. Apaprently UGA is seen in a better light because only 72% of their white players graduate leaving a very small 8% disparity.

That 77% number is for all sports. AU's football team had an overall graduation rate of 63%.

I'm not sure that I'd want to hang my hat on the fact that AU's white players are smarter, but that's just me...

Yes they did! And it's funny, he thinks the solution to closing the gap between their athletes, is to graduate less, rather than treat the black athletes more fairly and help them get a degree. Anything to make room for oversigning, I guess.

In all my years of following AU football, I cant belive i missed all teh articles about black players being given less academic assistance while in school.

Sometimes, not kicking them off the team to make room, would be treating them more fairly.

We should all aim to have a lower disparity then...like Oklahoma?

They obviously have a much more fair outlook.
