Shepherd is not built powerful enough to be a wildcat triggerman. You have to be able to between the tackles to make that set work.

I thought Miles did fine yesterday; I agreed with every call he made including the 2pt conversion and actually disagreed when Saban called it but apparently I was wrong.
Would really like to hear why you thought this.

Randle is the biggest reason they beat GA to whoever didnt know he has been playing
What does this have to do with him making zero impact yesterday?

Because he didnt do that against Auburn, right?

The key to the wildcat is running between the tackles. That is the base of that offensive package. Just because you direct snap to a player does not mean it is a wildcat offense. Shepherd is built to run on the corners, not between the tackles. He could be the running back in the set but not the triggerman.

He does not have the size/frame to do it regularly, unlike Tebow, Ronnie Brown, Darren Mcfadden. If you are going to run that set more than rarely you need a powerful guy who can run between the tackles taking the snaps. The auxiliary guys can be the smaller faster types because most of their plays will attack the corners or use misdirection schemes.

Yeah, the amount of talent being squandered is beyond frustrating. I don't know who to blame, but I think the blame has to fall on GC

You can have all the talent or just some talent, you still have to play the game and it's a team effort. Why is Boise State, Cincinnati and TCU doing so well without the talent of SEC teams? Why did Bama lose to Utah last year? It takes a total team effort with every link on the same page and even with that it takes some luck(BCS) and calls to go a teams way. In 2007 the Bama fan base said LSU could not win the NC because of Matt Flynn. It was said we could not win in 2003 because of Matt Mauck. We were told in 2005 & 6 LSU would win the NC because we had Jamarcus Russell.
Bottom line on Saturday was we had to have things go our way. Injuries and 3 or 4 key calls did not. Next year our young QB's will be more experienced with loads of new talent. I feel like we finally have the RP debacle behind us. Jefferson & Lee where suppose to be learning behind RP.

Why we don't use Randle more is beyond me. Miles has a strict policy which does not allow true freshman to have a key role in the offense. Shepard had some nice runs in the 1st quarter, kept a drive going, then we never heard from him again. This has been a constant problem under Miles, the players who is playing well gets benched in favor of an upperclassmen. Scott still had a great game imo, but Shepard has the speed to take it to the house and if you give him enough carries, he's going to eventually take one all the way. I mean, he needs more then 3 carries....and I believe all of them were in the 1st quarter.
It is pretty frustrating to have so many offensive weapons yet Crowton has no idea how to use them. I think Crowton has to go, we have way too much talent on offense to be ranked last in the SEC.

I am with you on this. Everyone says Crowton is an offensive genius, but I think he is the exact opposite.
