Considering how Tennessee has played all season long, they SHOULD win out but it's no guarantee. You can't sleepwalk on Kentucky or Vanderbilt. They are not good but they can't be sleptwalk on unless you're a great team.
And South Carolina is not a guarantee for Florida. That game could cause complete and utter chaos.

Does Vandy have any mathematical chance?
Vandy wins out, finishes 4-4
Florida drops both, finishes 4-4
SCar finishes 4-4 due to win over Fla in this scenario
Tennessee beats Kentucky, Kentucky finishes 4-4
Idk if it matters, but a Tennessee win over Mizzou puts them at 4-4 all else held constant, a loss puts them at 3-5, and UGA's game against AU has similar ramifications. So Vandy could be involved in a 4, 5, or 6 team tie. Does any of those involve Vandy getting the CG bid?

Mathematically the only team out in the East is Mizzou. There are scenarios where we have a 6 way tie which I think would actually be more favorable to UTk/UF than the 4 way tie scenario mentioned above.

Champ game will be a blood bath against aubbie or bammer.

South Carolina wins out
After losing to Kentucky, Tennessee beats Vanderbilt
No, Kentucky needs to lose to Tennessee. And then Tennessee needs to lose to Vandy or Mizzou.
If Kentuck beats Tenn, and SC beats UF and LSU, UK is the champ.

What happens in a six way tie in the East
Three-Team Tie (or more): If three teams (or more) are tied for a division title, the following procedure will be used in the following order: (Note: If one of the procedures results in one team being eliminated and two remaining, the two-team tiebreaker procedure as stated in No. 1 above will be used):
A. Combined head to head record among the tied teams;
B. Record of the tied teams within the division;
C. Head to head competition against the team within the division with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non divisional) and proceeding through the division (multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last and a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place);
D. Overall Conference record against non divisional teams;
E. Combined record against all common non divisional teams;
F. Record against the common non divisional team with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non divisional) and proceeding through other common non divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division; and
G. Best cumulative Conference winning percentage of non-divisional opponents (Note: If two teams’ non-divisional opponents have the same cumulative record, then the two-team tiebreaker procedures apply. If four teams are tied, and three teams’ non-divisional opponents have the same cumulative record, the three-team tiebreaker procedures will be used beginning with 2.A.);
Example (Western 1 would be the representative)
TIED TEAMS NON-DIVISIONAL OPPONENTS CUMULATIVE RECORD
Western 1 Eastern Opponents: 14-2
Western 2 Eastern Opponents: 12-4
Western 3 Eastern Opponents: 8-8
H. Coin flip of the tied teams with the team with the odd result being the representative (Example: If there are two teams with tails and one team with heads, the team with heads is the representative).
The Bottom Line for the Gamecocks
SC must beat Florida
Florida must lose to LSU
Tennessee must beat Kentucky and then lose to either Vandy or Mizzou
Georgia must lose to Auburn
If those things happen then SC goes to Atlanta.
It's a longshot to say the least.

I want to see the 6-way tie just to watch heads explode while it's all going down. Also, Vandy would have a co-Championship. I wouldn't even be mad if we claimed it either.
Posted on 11/7/16 at 1:24 pm to scrooster
The third one for South Carolina in that scenario is the biggest longshot. Vandy COULD be capable but an offense similar to last weekend would have to show up.

Actually a 6 way tie at 4-4 is still possible. It appears that UF, UT, USC and UK are all still mathematically alive for the division title.
SEC East ... Most competitive division in college football? I think so

USC > UF
UT > UK
UGA > AU
Vandy > Mizz
11/19
LSU > UF
UT > Mizz
Vandy > Ole Miss
11/26
Vandy > UT
^ that situation will give you a 6 way tie at 4-4, which apparently sends USC to the SEC Championship. I have no clue how but I'll take the word of the person who figured it out. Pretty sure that means Vandy is eliminated along with Missouri.

No. Vandy can be part of a multi-team tie for the East championship, but the fact that one of our 4 wins would be against the West eliminates Vandy. For there to be a tie at 4-4, it will be Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Vandy OR those 4 plus Tennessee and/or Georgia. Vandy cannot win the tie-breakers in any of those scenarios.

Right now, South Carolina is playing the best of any East team
Posted on 11/7/16 at 1:39 pm to DayBowBow
If there is a 6-way tie in the East, can we just send the 2nd place team from the West so that it will be a decent game to watch?
Posted on 11/7/16 at 1:39 pm to DayBowBow
The main thing is, once you get to more than a two team tie, the first thing they look at is the record of the teams against each other.
USC(2-1) Wins: UT, UF. Losses: UK
UT (2-1) Wins: UF, UK. Losses: USC
UK (1-2) Wins: USC. Losses: UF, UT
UF (1-2) Wins: UK Losses: USC, UT
This eliminates UK and UF. USC goes as we won h2h against UT. This is how I understood it, I could be wrong because all of this is bat shite crazy

I see. So UGA is also eliminated as well right? Their division record will be 3-3 at best and they wouldn't have a favorable record against the other teams that are tied, so they'd be one of the first teams out no matter what right?
So its down to UF, Tennessee, Kentucky, and SCar if I'm understanding right

Yes, the way I understood it is that UGA and Vandy have a chance to tie at 4-4, but no chance to actually go to SECCG.
Posted on 11/7/16 at 1:43 pm to East Coast Band
If we beat South Carolina then we're at least co-champs of the East. Shirts will be printed.
Posted on 11/7/16 at 1:53 pm to WaterLink
Vanderbilt can get to 4-4, but they would lose all tiebreakers, so they are eliminated.

At this point, there are only two possibilities.
1) Get crushed by Alabama
2) Get crushed by Auburn

I still think Tennessee wins the East.
