I haven't heard anything about flooding or closed roads in the area.
yeah, Columbia road infrastructure looks pretty tame in that regard...

Ugh. Fine for the short term. They will be fine in the long term once the water gets fixed.
The big issue right now is fixing the breach in the canal because that could impact the water supply if the water levels drop before its fixed.

Again, the catastrophic flooding and destroyed roads are not remotely close to the stadium

The game will be played at Williams-Brice.
As far as hotels etc. I don't know what the university us supposed to do. I imagine they will make sure the teams, refs, and staffs have somewhere to stay. As for fans, call the hotel.

Hurricane Rita didn't get closer than 150 miles of Baton Rouge, yet they moved the Tennessee game to Monday night.
Someone in this thread said that it wasn't a hurricane that So. Carolina is dealing with, when in fact it is - Hurricane Joaquin.
So LSU fans remembering when they had a game moved due to a hurricane that didn't even hit Baton Rouge are concerned about a hurricane that didn't even hit Columbia aren't being all that unreasonable.
Infrastructure and resources get strained for hundreds of miles around a major hurricane.
I remember when Hugo hit South Carolina, it was devastating. Luckily the landscape in that area allows flood water to drain off quite quickly, so I expect the same for Columbia - that and the fact that Columbia wasn't hit with high winds probably means everything will be fine for the weekend.
I wish everyone well.

serious question. do you think the only concern is whether the neighborhood where the stadium sits is under water?

Not the same as the hurricane making landfall.

No but I think the resources will be available by Saturday and since the area is fine the game will take place at Williams-Brice

God help us all if LSU somehow gets upset in Columbia. The "schedule thread" stage has been set. Dozens of lines with hundreds of posts will appear on this board questioning:
"Why did we have to play in flood-ravished Columbia rather than in Tiger stadium?"
"I couldn't get a hotel room because..."
"The SEC offices are in Birmingham and they deliberately wouldn't move the game to Baton Rouge like they should have..."
"It isn't fair that we should have to play anywhere but Tiger Stadium, at night ..."
"The flood conditions made the refs throw flags on us out of sympathy to USCe"
Please lord, please let LSU win the game... even then I'm sure we will get some paranoid conspiracy posts, but not in the numbers that will overwhelm the board. Please god, let LSU win....

robably cause this is like the 4th thread started by LSU fans on this subject. Just chill the frick out and wait and see.
No way it gets played in Baton Rouge though. That's just a pipe dream for Tiger fans
It seems like The Cocks are the ones that need to chill.
I would imagine that there is a chance it gets moved to monday, but moving it to BR isnt out of the question.

Williams-Brice Stadium.
LSU fans seem hell-bent on getting this game moved.

Not really. Hurricane never came close to hitting SC. It was a once in a lifetime rain due to pressure.

Doubtful. Everyone on here keeps insisting that will happen, but no one else is saying that. Local sports, news, gamecock forums haven't even mentioned it
