*Before you rain me with downvotes, im not endorsing this*
College football could get weird, especially if the Pac-12 plays in the spring
There would be tremendous incentive for the PAC 12 and other west coast teams/and other national teams that didnt play to have a spring season.
-Ratings for west coast games are always low. If they were the only game in town, no telling how much more people would watch
-A west coast team hasnt won a title since 2004. They have become irrelevant compared to schools east of the Rockies. Even a regional, diminished title might renew some waning interest in west coast football
-Delaying a start to the season or forgoing a season would devastate programs financially and from a talent standpoint due to recruiting and transfers.
-Most blue states will probably insist on empty stadiums if ball was played in the fall. Spring could buy some time for that to change
-These teams could just pick right back up in the next fall season

You forgot to mention players would sit out if there is no football in the fall. If push back to Spring then they would once again forgo that because of the draft!

Pac12 sucks so bad they have to play in the spring to get people to watch?
Roll Trees.
ETA: I bet the SEC spring games would still bring in more viewers.

The fact that this isn't even mentioned in the article shows you how little Andy Nesbitt, the author of the article, knows about college football.

There are a few players that would sit out but not enough to derail a season

With the new transfer rules I think you’d see an exodus of PAC players

It could be they would have only a few top rated players to be drafted in the first two rounds.
