OP actually has a point. Paying recruits/transfers to come to your school is one thing, hell as far as we know they would have ended up there even if they weren't paid. But paying a dozen upper classmen more than they'd make on their rookie deals to prevent them from declaring and to instead return for a senior year is another.
1/2 of Ohio State's roster should be in the NFL right now. And the only reason they're not is because Ohio State decided to spend $20 million to bring them back for 1 last hurrah. And what Day and co did runs counter to why NIL was implemented in the first place
