Columbia and Charlotte are probably better drinking cities than Chi IBG, I mean come on.
Haven't been to the other cities you listed except San Diego, and will agree it shits on all other cities in pretty much every aspect including night life.

I enjoyed it actually. Went to some place called pennys(?), idk my friends who lived there took me out. Loved that bar.
As for Chicago, Lincoln park is my favorite. Wrigley is, bleh.

So what is your criteria for evaluating IBG? Similar to mizslu314's criteria?

Cost isn’t really one. Size definitely is and different types of places that the city has (cocktail bar, brewery bar, wine bar, sports bar, Dive bar etc) i guess you can say “diversity?”
My top 3 drinking cities are Boston NY and Chicago

I just went to the nearest Sonic ordered a large blue coconut slushee. I put it on the hood of my van and started going vehicle to vehicle punching the drivers in the face.
All the while I was yelling RTR, STTDB, and on down the line. When I was done I sat down and drank my slushy like nothing happened. I did feel bad one time when an old lady was driving… but only for a minute. She had an UGA shirt on.
