Spurrier drew hate because he was a dick..lovable dick but a dick. Tebow drew hate because of the constant coverage of him. I mean he was talked about constantly. Don't know any college player had more coverage than he had. Even Bush, Young, Newton didn't have the huge, huge attention as Tebow. Obviously his draw to the most popular religion in the country helped a ton.
