Franks is lucky KY's defensice backs has the case of dropsies. I think they whiffed on about 6 throws.

At this point, Mullen needs a QB that can pound the rock. Is Franks that guy? if not, UF will struggle.

You're actually right on that number.

I had the breakdown on the Florida board.

Potential (and) Interceptions:

Short: 0/1
Intermediate: 1/5 (defense dropped more passes than we did)
Deep: 0/0

I think the thing that bothers me most is that I diagnosed Franks' problem in the Orange and Blue Debut (Florida Spring Game) when I outlined his pass selection.

Vs. Kentucky, in deep and intermediate passes he went 4 - 22.

In the Spring Game he completed 0 passes over 6 yards.

My biggest problem with fellow Florida fans is it's not like I haven't done my homework. I have videos, still images, stats, breakdowns and most of all -- I've successfully predicted Franks' problems every single week.

I don't doubt Mullen as a QB coach, but I don't think Mullen's gameplan was to let a bad Quarterback try to throw it downfield more than the short passes.

Franks has to elect shorter passes over the intermediate/deep, or we should just change QBs and go to a run first offense (as we should have).

He got hit by our MLB Kash Daniels on 2 of the first three plays of the game and both times he cried like a bitch at his line. Kash is reportedly noteworthy for his hits in practice but as I said in the game thread "If Franks doesn't want to get hit, he's not the QB for a Mullen offense"

And as I said on Twitter:

You can't expect a clean fricking pocket every down in the SEC. I think the Offensive Line giving up 4 hurries on 43 passes (including throws with penalties) is an outstanding number since Kentucky's pass rush is legit. Especially since 22 of those passes were intermediate/deep passes. Only to be rushed on four of those is great.

Kentucky left a lot of points on the field. Actually, the game should not have been close. UT/FLA looks more like a matchup in the Lingerie Bowl, just with uglier players, than it does an SEC game

That's not Mullen's style unless you have a Dak Prescott on your team.

You are correct here. With State:
1st year had Tyler Lee(not a runner) as QB 5 wins
2nd year Relf(could fall forward 4 yards) 9 wins
year 3-5 Russell(drop QB) 7,8,7 wins
year 6-7 Prescott 19 wins in 2 years
year 8-9 Fitz 9 wins last year.

2016 was the anamoly only becase we had the worst D coord in the history of the SEC. 3 of those losses should have been wins easily and I'll fight anybody IRL who says "shoulda, woulda, coulda."

Don't give me this B. S. I've been supporting this program for over 20 plus years. Financially and otherwise. And I'll be there this weekend again. I don't understand how anyone cannot see that Franks is not the answer. And I also know that he's not the only problem we have. Give Trask a shot, use Toney, do anything other than ask Franks to throw the ball 38 times in a game. Because we all know how that will turn out.

He actually threw 43 times but some were called back for penalties (but he still made the wrong read on some of them or poor passes).

Me: Franks went for 44% of his passes, only completed 4 - 22 intermediate/deep passes, had a potential of 6 passes being intercepted, only had 4 hurries out of his 43 dropbacks, fumbled on a playaction, checked down two times out of 43, clearly could not see the field and very obviously is a huge problem for Florida moving the ball.

Florida Fans: yOu jUsT dOn'T lIkE hIm.

I don't like him as our Quarterback, the statistics, video and still image evidence are all against him. Even after they said the OL was bad, I have 11 screenshots (FROM ONE DRIVE) statistics from ESPN for hurries that not only was he afforded a clean pocket, he was afforded on average 4 seconds to make his decision.

A decision that he ultimately used to throw to the Kentucky defense 4 times in two series. He's just a bad fricking QB unless he is throwing it short, which is why I also think if we're just going to throw it short, give Jones/Toney a chance, or at least give Trask a chance to show us that he can't do it similarly.

This: "I trust the staff" thing is nice, but after that last game, either Franks or Mullen is the problem.

I'm going with the Quarterback who has almost always looked like diggity dogshit.

I agree with you. I also understand the argument that Franks is the best we've got, but at this point why not give Trask a chance? If he sucks we're right back where we started. What do we have to lose?

I said the same thing to start the year and everyone got pissed off at me.

I said: "We start Trask, he's bad, we know Franks is definitely the best we have and we just have to take our medicine."

If Franks gets benched in the next three games, though, it's just going to leave most of us thinking: Why didn't we move on?

The only thing Franks does differently from last year is not run out of bounds every other down, but he still makes really bad decisions with the ball.
