Wonder why you're so angry?

What puzzles me, is how did a three loss team like Ole Miss beat this team at home?
This was explained, literally, hundreds of times before the game, but LSU fans didn't want to hear it. Most of you guys preferred to stick to the "Bama lost to crappy Ole Miss at home so they suck!" narrative.

It's a shame we can't make adjustments and understand you just can't run the ball with 8 and 9 man fronts like Alabama had
I believe on 14 of LF's 19 carries, we had 7 or less in the box.

I can clearly remember two plays where Fournette got absolutely stoned by a safety at the LOS. It was the first time it happened all season. Those are plays that usually go for 8+ because he runs over the safety and falls forward for 5-6 yards. Saturday, they were going for 1-2 yards and putting LSU behind the chains.
What this game illustrated for me was the difference in quality depth that Bama has established in the trenches. Something LSU had prior to 2013, but no longer does. Bama was rotating players in the front 7 all night. LSU played 3 DE's, 3 DTs and 3 LBs. That's unacceptable for a program that expects to compete for titles, in my opinion.

We didn't stack the box. It was base 3-4 for the majority of the game with 7 players in the box. We ran a little 4-3 over mixed in where Devall of Anderson had their hand in the dirt. The base 3-4 looks like a 5-2 to most people because they don't usually see a 3-4. It was 3-4 personell though and there were 7 players in the box all night

Bama was playing a 3-4 base most of the night, but they had safeties helping with the run game almost every play. Bama just did a good job disguising it by not bringing them into the box before the snap.
Y'all can keep saying Bama didn't "stack" the box, and you're technically right, but Bama was committing 8 players to stopping the run for most of the night.
All the proof you need is the number of times a safety was in on a tackle right at the LOS.

Correct, and LSU does very little to disguise a run play with LF. It just made it too easy if everyone did their part. Like in baseball, sit on the fastball and adjust to the curve. We sat on run play all night.

Exactly right.
Bama knew what LSU was going to do and it allowed them to keep the safeties back until the snap. They would then crash down and fill any hole, which were few and far between, that LF could find and they did a fantastic job of tackling.

Well, you did
Bama should never lose to Ole Miss

It was far and away the best job of tackling that Bama has done in two years. There have been games where it was really starting to piss me off.

Come on...you've seen the original movie and the sequel now, so when Freezus III comes out next September, you will already know the ending. Freezus gets his team sky high for their Super Bowl, pulls the upset, and then watches his team turn to a steaming pile of dogshit. Two years in a row now.

You can see it at the beginning of possessions, when Smart has anywhere from 14 to 18 players on the field, waiting to see who LSU brings out to start the series. And it's not just extra DBs. Pass rushing OLBs and DEs vs extra run stoppers.

Spot on. I remember on a goal line play Bama rotating in 8 fresh players when LSU subbed.
LSU used to have a rotation like this in the front, back in 2011 and somewhat in 2012. Since then, the Dline and LB depth has become anemic.

I remember one play where 4net was wrapped up and going down and one of the DB's came up and finished him off. 4net's head got rocked back. I enjoyed seeing the replay of that.

I enjoyed seeing Dillion Lee actually play. He made the most of his rare playing time. Held the edge nicely, got 2 good pressures that I can remember (close to a safety on one) and nicely caught an INT that was poorly thrown to the TE in front of him. Put him in at TE/HB!
