"Mississippi State, the conference champion, had a game left with San Francisco after the pairings were to be announced. The Sugar Bowl was afraid to take a chance on the Bulldogs."

No. The 1980 football win over Bama, ending the longest winning streak(28 games)in SEC history.

Maybe the biggest win in women's BB history. I would put it on par with Notre Dame ending UCLA's 88 game win streak in '74.
