Johnson would have started for us, just as he will start for yall. The kid is a fricking beast, legit NFL talent.

The WR's probably all would have RS, not saying they are not good, but I think we have enough depth now to allow them to come in and learn the system for a year.

Oh and I don't think Moncrief ever makes it to Ole Miss.

I think its a combination of a lot of things. Diaz and Hudspeth leaving for other jobs. The fact that the FBI was around our program investigating Cam gate scared off some recruits, and also the fact that some of these guys can get immediate PT at Ole Miss this fall where they would have to redshirt at State.

This is the answer right here.

I like that one.

Watch the kid play baseball and you will understand. The kid is going to make some money in June. You don't find many athletes like that, that can roam CF and have that speed.

You sure you aren't thinking about Senquez Golson from Goula? he's the big baseball player who could have pro offers come june. I didn't know Donte played baseball.

No kidding...

ETA: I love the fact that these kids are great athletes and not just football players. Lots of options...

BAHAHAHA

My bad, yeah its Golson not Moncrief.

For some reason I got the two confused, it's the one from Goula. The kid is a stud baseball player. Reminds me of Billy Hamilton kid that we signed a few years ago.

Yeah, he is supposed to be really good. I wish the kid the best of luck, whether it's at OM or in the MLB...

It is almost impossible for a kid to turn down anything over 100k, especially if your parents don't have the most money.

So you guys expect 3 true freshmen to be in your 2 deep WR position out of your 3 starting WRs?

We will see, but that isn't a lot of money in the MLB draft, at all. He plays 3 years at OM and that kind of money could be easily multiplied by 10...

Or he could tear his ACL or some other injury...

ITSME, those two kids are walk ons who never touched the field. Neither will likely EVER contribute to our team.

Next time you look stuff up, make sure you post better info.

FWIW, Moulds is the son of former MSU WR and Buffalo Bills WR Eric Moulds, he is a preferred walk-on WR who is undersized and doesnt have the speed of his pops.

When did I say that?
I could see Brassell and Singleton getting some PT. Starters will be Logan, probably V. Sanders, and maybe Grandy. I'm not the coach, I don't know who will play. They get payed enough to choose the right ones...

ETA: I left out Melvin Harris. Not sure if he graduated or not, but he would play in front of the freshmen at least early...

Golson said in his interview Wed. on WLOX that he is looking forward to playing both sports at Ole Miss. I know some baseball guys in the Hattiesburg area and they think he will get drafted but not high enough for them to offer enough money for him to turn down college.

Yeah, 100K in your face is a good deal. But having seen the kid play my guess is he would get drafted in the 5 to 10 round range, which would probably mean anywhere between 250 and 500k.

Also, if you aren't doing very good 2 or 3 years down the road you retire and come back and play college football while still having your money.

I doubt that...

True. Wishful thinking?

If spring started today, our 3 wr set would be:

Melvin Harris - Wideout
Vince Sanders - Wideout
Ja-mes Logan - Slot

A fourth would prally be Korvic Neat or Derrick Herman.

Depending on how Snoop, Donte, and Tobias do with the transition to collegiate level, I could see them getting solid PT. If they get here in May, which is always a hurdle, they boost their chances a ton IMO. Getting here for that whole summer is a huuuge plus.

edit: HHD - Melvin is back on the team after some "diciplinary" issue late in the season ( ). On the flip side, Grandy has not been with the team. Chuck mentioned that today on the OMS.
