Linemen win Championships. So why haven't some of these coaches figured this out? (CMR included)

Richt's staff have not recruited well on the OL. It's our worst set of positions in terms of recruiting rankings over a long period of time which is pretty remarkable considering the wealth of talent coming out of our state. Since getting Grantham, we have done better at recruiting DL. I guess we just never have had an OL coach or OC who could attract or coach up OL.

South Carolina's line will continue to improve. We were underwhelming to start because we have three new guys playing on the line this year. Our line is big, athletic and I think getting close to putting it all together.

Spurrier He PREPARED his team.

He is good for that one game a year. The next three weeks will be a test of his being able to it multiple times. At UF he really didn't have to.

So does this mean UGA wants to start playing us earlier in the season again?

Petrino didn't do anything but come in 3rd in the SEC West and wreck a motorcycle.

He placed 2nd in the west just two seasons ago.

This thread is about how its all about the lines.

USCs line was not impressive all year and they whipped you guys.. so what's your explanation for that?

Everytime we got a pass rush, Connor Shaw ran for a first down. It was a problem in coaching that allowed him to do that. And you were'nt paying attention if you didn't think USC's Dline was impressive.

So, what you're saying is........... the game is won in the trenches?

If this is true, then I may copyright that phrase before it becomes cliche.

Murray had open receivers it seemed most of the night. He couldn't hit anything. 11-31 is ridiculously unacceptable.

The UGA defense was also completely overpursuing everything. UF's defense won't make that same mistake - see the Texas AM game.

That is why my favorite thing our new coach has done is recruit some elite d-linemen.
