If Barton comes out and makes a quick 3 or forces a turn over it sets the pace all game for how successful he'll be. Conversely, if he misses the first few shots and can't generate turn overs he's usually quiet all game.

IMO, and I realize I may be the only one with this view point, but Antonio Barton is the X Factor for UT.

Stokes, Maymon, Richardson, and McCrae are going to get theirs regardless of which team they play. If Barton can come out with the hot hand, that's a starting 5 where I wouldn't be surprised for every one of them to be in double digits. With Stokes and Maymon both having double doubles.

IMO UM deserves the spread and points, but it should be a great game.

I'm not sure we can call them inconsistent anymore. Ever since the A&M loss this team has been playing consistently good ball and from the SEC tourney to date they've played consistently great ball.

The consistency they've shown since the VU game has been solid and fun to watch

Agree and what makes me even happier about it all is that you mentioned 'fun.' For a long time people thought Cuonzo ball would be boring ball but now that we see his system run properly and at a high level we know better. I never thought fundamental ball had to be boring as some people argued but I was worried that Martin's system might be too vanilla so I'm definitely glad to see this style produce ball that is fun to watch.

I'm in my mid 20s and have played point most of my life. Mostly in a run and gun/press/transition game offense like what Coach P and UL run. Admittedly, I hated watching Cuonzo ball because of the pace and half court sets on both sides of the court. It just didn't register as enjoyable basketball to me. Now that we've got a glimpse with the last 9-10 games on how this offense and defense are supposed to operate it's been like the clouds parting and the sun finally coming through. Granted, it's not the style of play I would coach but It is effective when done the right way. It's great to see the guys rally and play how we all knew they were capable of.
