Thousands of Gator fans.

UF returned most of their tickets. their attendance was the lowest in 20 years @UT. UT fans bought up all of UF's allotment in several hours.

Student came out in full force too. they requested too many tickets and exceeded the number of tickets available in the student section.

The Vols just came off of a season where they finished ranked #4 and clown stomped Miami in the Sugar bowl.

Much easier to get 73K at a Spring game after you finish #4 in the country than if you just finished #7 in your division.

Got to be more to it than that.

If that's all it was then why didn't the 1999 spring game break the record?

No love for Tee Martin?

Did people have nothing better to do in 1986?

Yeah, I think weather has alot to do with it.

I think if the weather is good you can expect 50,000-55,000 for this weekend.

Either way, looks like Moore will be hanging up his twitter.

Tennessee can barely get 80% full for a real game.

80% of Neyland is still more than some SEC stadiums hold.

And, as anyone who has actually been to a game in Neyland can attest, this is not something to be proud of. Just because UT may sell 102,000 tickets doesn't mean that it can actually hold that many.

Always wondered how they count the people when its free to attend? Its not like they can count tickets and i doubt they have someone counting the people that walk through the gates.

So, in other words, Byron Moore will not have a twitter account come Sunday? Or was he just looking for an excuse to delete his account and he figured this to be a sure way ... with a built-in excuse.

There was a big media push in '86 to set a new spring game attendance record. Even when Manning was the QB, the O&W game typically had between 18-22K.
