CFB is evolving quickly DJS.
Five of the 10 all-time worst defensive performances by a national champion (yardage and points allowed) have occurred since 2010.
LSU 2019 for example was around 30th ranked defense in both yards and points per game.
We don't need an elite defense to be great. With what we will field on offense, we just need gritty bend but don't break D.

Athlon cites us at the 17th most overall talented roster in the nation and #7 in the SEC based on 247 overall composite rankings.
For comparison, Arkansas, who many of you are very high on is ranked
# 11 SEC and number 28 in the nation.
Also, out two top rated transfers are both DBs from Ga Tech and Ohio State.
Our biggest problem has been coaching not talent. Although we could most certainly use more depth almost everywhere.

Wow I knew TN had a terrible basketball history but you really just said TN had two good basketball seasons.
