As an aside, driving on suspended gets dismissed as long as the court fees get paid. Generally.
Not exactly. In Tennessee, they typically get dismissed if costs are paid AND you get your license reinstated. However, in some sates it also comes with mandatory jail time. In GA, it's a mandatory 48 hours to serve.

It’s a crime of laziness
It's more than that. You don't drive on suspended license out of laziness. You neglect to take care of whatever suspended your license out of laziness. Driving on a suspended license is an intentional act and one done hoping you don't get pulled over.

Speaking of; whatever happened to the annual Fulmer Cup?
Looks like it was abandoned in 2020. Guessing the 'Summer of George' revolution did it in because it was seen as too racist?

In the discussion about how a school handled legal issues I would say it’s very relevant.
But that just makes UGA look worse doesn’t it.

Several things. Nowhere does it say they were encouraged to get drunk like you claimed
How else do you interpret the fact that they were told the AD didn’t care if they had been drinking or how much, they were told just drive the AD supplied SUVs. But when your AD takes this position, I can understand why they would not punish players or staff doing so.
So you really believe that UGAs AD didn’t send a legal document to the AJC threatening them if they allowed investigations into UGA football players to move forward? You are supposed to be brighter than this.

I have no idea
So they did convict him on both accusations but lowered them to sexual battery. That was mishandled from the word go by UGA, I’m not surprised.
Are you really trying to put a player shoving a fan on par with rape? Dude that low even for UGA standards. You should seek help, get sterilized, consider ending it.

UGA wrote a letter to the AJC to point out gross inaccuracies in Alan Judd's reporting. Judd was fired because he reported information about the UGA football team that he couldn't back with evidence. The AJC had to edit his story to remove information he couldn't prove to be factual. Several years ago, Judd had to resign from the Louisville newspaper after a similar situation.
I hope these facts are helpful to you.

I don't know that. Perhaps you are plugged in better than I am that you do. Since you are plugged in to schools maybe you can answer this. Why did Huepel decide not to suspend Thomas after assaulting two students? Why did her not miss a single snap due to the assault?
quote:No they did not. If they had convicted him, then they would have sentenced him appropriately. Georgia suspended Anderson and he did not play another down. Tennessee, on the other hand has been ignoring and covering up rape, sexual assaults and assaults since the 1990's, and that trend seems to continue to this day.
So they did convict him on both accusations but lowered them to sexual battery.
quote:Absolutely not. Do you deny that the University of Tennessee has covered up rape, sexual assaults and assaults? If you are going to fake outrage, then fake outrage at your own University.
Are you really trying to put a player shoving a fan on par with rape?
Tell me what you really think about the University of Tennessee covering up rape, sexual assaults and assaults for the past 30 years. Are you outraged?
Or just another UT fan saying, "Boys will be boys!" "Make them apologize and move on!"?

Remember when Foolmer removed the cameras from the intermural gym to conceal the evidence of his player beating semi athletic frat boys to within inches of their lives?

Actually it’s about 5 different posters, but I digress. Yes some were previous posters under a new name. A few were crunchy, but saying they were all the same poster is just ignorant.

However, while other reports of sexual violence have occurred among students, at least six football players on the Volunteers' roster last season were accused of sexual assault.
In April 2013, running back Marlin Lane was named as a suspect in the rape of an 18-year-old high school student in Lane's dorm room. He was never arrested or prosecuted and was able to return to the Vols less than two months later.
In November 2014, a 19-year-old Tennessee student told police linebacker A.J. Johnson and cornerback Michael Williams raped her. They were later indicted on two counts of aggravated rape.
In September, a football player still on the 2015 roster was named in a sexual assault complaint. Despite gruesome claims, an internal investigation by the university decided no assault occurred and the incident was instead consensual sex.
Most recently, in April, receiver Von Pearson was a suspect in an alleged rape, while wide receiver Alton “Pig” Howard and defensive end Dimarya Mixon were listed as witnesses in the police report. No arrests were made in connection to the incident.
Former cornerback Riyahd Jones was also named as a suspect in a reported sexual assault that allegedly occurred on Feb. 5, according to The Tennessean. No charges were filed.
