His wife was killed as well. Rear ended at a red light by a 16 yo texting on his phone. Never slowed down. The kid had just passed a car that was doing 55 on the Parkway.

One of his hallmarks was giving the other team credit for making great plays.

Great guy. Huge loss.

Wasn't sure where to post it and because of a conversation we had one day. I grew up a huge LSU fan, wore Tommy Casanova's jersey number in HS in Bham. Rod and I were talking about away games and the fan fanaticism and I invited him to our jambalaya tailgate any time we were in Red Stick every other year. He was going to try and come by the next one. We agreed that LsU was one of the best places for an away game. Ironically, one of his last calls - maybe his very last one - was the description of the two run walk off error in the baseball game the other day. Against LSU. Just thought I'd share. It was one of life's true wtf ygbfkm moments when I read that he had passed.
