Meh on Eddie Williams quote. I grew up in PC. Skimming is king, not football. I presently live in Daphne and have a buddy in chrichton. You can't drive through Prichard without seeing a football game on asphalt. Then again, ptown is probably top10 in the country with d-1talent per capita

I'm not sure if you've been paying attention to the Olympics but most of those athletes are white if you consider sports other than basketball, football, and running.

And....... What sports require the most athleticism?

Basketball, Football, and Track.

Swimming, Fencing, Rowing, Archery?? Yeah, right!!

All right, let me rephrase. Blacks are superior in sports that require running, jumping and overall explosiveness.

That video in the OP is bullshite.

Now I know California (#1) isn't in the South - no state in the South compares to that West Coast NFL talent...and unless that video considers Texas and then Florida "the South" - it's all make believe.

Exactly. Before football and basketball took off in America, blacks were the best at baseball too. The Negro leagues had more talent than the majors in basballs golden years.

Let's face it, as sad as it is blacks in America were bred to be the fastest and strongest from the time they got off the boat. The rich lazy white man made them this way

Since Cal and Tex are two of the biggest and most populated states in the nation, okay what's your point?

Well of course no southern state compares to California in talent. The population is what, 10x as much?

You are delusional, my friend. Whites fall behind Asians on the athletic meter.

That's because of the shear size of those states as Turduken mentioned and not to mention the Gross Domestic Product or GDP of those states.

If you consider the amount of jobs available in those states then that really accounts for the availability of raw talent.

quote:

Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased in 43 states and the District of Columbia in 2011, according to new statistics released today by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) that breakdown GDP by state.1 Durable–goods manufacturing, professional, scientific, and technical services, and information services were the leading contributors to real U.S. economic growth. U.S. real GDP by state grew 1.5 percent in 2011 after a 3.1 percent increase in 2010.

This map is a good indicator of the density of square miles in the united states.

Texas's proximity to the equator and considering the shear size of the state has a lot to do with the amount of talent in the State of Texas. Remember Texas at one point was its own country.

I think Americans only use the term athletic as a reference to a hand full of sports i.e. Football, Basketball, Baseball, & Field & track. We've seen a number of very good "black athletes" in the realm of boxing and mma. If you only consider those as sports then yes Blacks tend to have the upper advantage when playing in those sports.

If you consider Hockey, Swimming, Archery, beach/ regular volley ball, Canoe Slalom/sprint, cycling, diving, fencing, soccer, gymnastics, sailing, judo, shooting, wrestling, taekwondo, and many other sports you will see that many more whites than blacks excel in these sports and win gold when competing against those of black countries. The athletes that compete in the sports are very athletic.

That's alright Catfan81, no one can talk shite about Kentucky athlete's athleticism.

Thank you very much for the complement. It's been a rough off season. I've wasted many hours on the rant and I really appreciate posters that put effort into their threads & post. I really enjoy this board and hope that it continues to be enjoyable to come to.

My school started weights at 6th grade. A few years before I got to the 6th grade(1993ish), the 6th graders played football with the 7-8th graders.

yep.. we started lifting as soon as we hit middle school here (6th grade). Almost all the kids had already played pee-wee (pop-warner) football.

Now i hear all the youth leagues around here are "select" teams, and buy fancy uniforms. It really has gotten out of hand.

I've got nothing but respect for football in Texas. High School stadiums that are cathedrals, and fans that fill them every Friday night

Can't tell if serious... are you suggesting that White people are more athletic, by using sports that black people have no interest in? Look what happened when they started golfing (Tiger Woods), or Wrestling (Jordan Burroughs, Gold Medal). If they had any interest in hocket, swimming, etc. They would be better at those too. It's simply about interest/participation.
