So sad. Bad enough for that to happen to anyone, much less a young athlete...

This hits close to home. I was diagnosed with the same cancer (melanoma) at 21. It was a complete fluke that it was caught in time. I was home from college and mom saw something on my back when I was changing shirts and forced me to see a doctor. I was really hoping Turner would get lucky like I did.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all who knew and loved him and to his Vanderbilt family. 21 is way too young to die.

This is awful.

My mother in law had stage 4 melanoma in the 1980s. Thanks to the docs at Duke an experimental immunotherapy, she beat it. She's now in her late 80s.

I lost a photographer buddy of mine to Melanoma several years ago. I think he was 28.

I had the pleasure of shooting with him a couple of times. He was uber talented.

Just terrible. I feel bad for his family and friends.

It's a reminder of the shortness of life and the necessity to trust in Christ now as we don't know when our time will be up.
