Already past midnight so gonna start this new thread for the day upcoming.
I have been on the phone and internet all night long trying to gather as much information about what's going on as I can. I don't want to be the guy that brings bad news or negative talk but I felt like I needed to bring our followers the information I have been told. Here it is...
- I have talked with multiple reliable sources here in our area and I feel confident enough now to officially say James Franklin will be the next head coach at Penn St.
- I have heard that Franklin has been booked to Penn St since earlier this week. I was told Franklin has calculated this whole time frame and almost purposely dragged this thing out. Now I truly don't know if that's what his intentions were but that's how it played out.
- I was told Penn St has been his job all along and has been working behind the scenes calculating even his assistants to carry out particular tasks. If you remember earlier this week John Donovan and Bob Shoop began to follow Penn St recruits and I was told that was done on purpose and not done in favor for recruiting them to Vanderbilt.
- I don't want to go too far with this but I was also told the assistants coaches very well know what it going on, maybe not all of them but some and have purposely said they have no idea so they could begin working behind closed doors for Penn St.
- I was also told that Charles Bankins has been actively contacting current Penn St players and telling them he is excited about coaching them in Happy Valley. If you go look at who Bankins is following now current PSU TE Adam Brenneman will be found.
- I have also been talking with some current Vandy players tonight and believe or not what all I just told you is exactly what they are starting to hear as well. Some players are starting to get real disgusted with this whole situation. They are still strong together as a team but feel lied to and misguided by Coach Franklin. The feeling is beginning to be that Franklin has wanted to get out of Vandy all along but was just waiting for that next great opportunity to leave.
Now I know all this is probably a lot to see but like I said I felt like I needed to bring this info here from some trusted sources of mine so maybe the VU247 followers could get a better feel for whats goin on and maybe begin to look towards a new coach!

Maybe with no coaches and no recruits, UT might now have a chance to beat Vandy.

Go easy on them. This whole 'being relevant' thing is very new to Vandy football.

Fortunately, their last chance at relevancy for the foreseeable future just hopped on a plane to State College. So they should be back to reality very shortly.

with how bad they are again?... that's a good chance UT is worse in 14 than they were in 13.... they just lost a 20+ senior class, including 4/5 of the OL... they still don't have a QB... and the defense will be crap again.

the schedule also doesn't get any easier... trade Oregon for Oklahoma.

Chris has done a great job of keeping the board up to date on what’s going on throughout this process with coach Franklin but I’ve deleted the original post in this thread and I’m locking it because I don’t think feel comfortable with some of the accusations being levied.

I still believe that James Franklin will be the next head coach at Penn State. I also believe that Vanderbilt has been working tirelessly, all the way through last night, to keep him on board.

But this site is not reporting that James Franklin has calculated this since early in the week or that the coaching staff is complicit in any way. This site is also not going to make assumptions on the motivations of Coach Franklin or what his stance has been throughout. If we do, we are going to make it clear that they are our opinions. Members of this message board are more than welcome to discuss what you think those motivations are and discuss any rumor that may be floating around but presenting rumors as news isn’t my job and it isn’t Chris’ job. The original post in this thread was conveying rumors, nothing more or less.

Again, Chris has done a really good job of staying on top of things during this situation but this thread is not how we do things here.

Well then, you just go on posting random things you find interesting in threads that have nothing to do with it. You crazy kid you.

Oh, thank God Jimmy Franklin is leaving - maybe now we'll have a chance against that Vandy juggernaut
