Agree or Disagree?

I think that Coach Urban Meyer is overrated.
He's a great coach, but he's not the best.

Florida's biggest problem this year will not be having Percy Harvin.
Tebow is a bit overrated, Expect them to get better when they get a new QB in there.

Meyer just has the best talent.

Who's a better coach? How is Tebow overrated? If teams win on talent alone we wouldn't have had a 9-4 season in 07. Explain Bowling Green and Utah.

He said Urban Meyer went 13-0 at Utah. And he did.

2004. They're that undefeated team that nobody talks about because Auburn-USC stole all of the press.

I don't know why anyone is bitchin' about Corch Meyer. After all, his team won it's second NC double A BS-BCS Championship Bowl Game in the last three season. GO GATOR!

You should gradulate Corch Irvin Meyer. GO GATOR!

I also think they are going to run in to some troubles in the SEC trying to put a QB under center for the first time in his life and run plays that you run under center.
This kind of sillyness kills me.

What's next, Urban is going to a power running game out of the I-set?

I like how people say Meyer has the best talent. This isn't the pros, talent in college and coaching goes hand and hand. If you don't have talent in college football after a period of time it means your coach is lazy on the recruiting trail. And for the people that say Florida is a hotbed of talent it's not like they were doing much after Spurrier and before Meyer. It's like people saying the only reason my neighboor buys all of that shite is because he has a high paying job and works his arse off.

I disagree with WRT. Coach Meyer I feel is an above average coach. I'd post all his accomplishments but there are just too damn many. PEace.

Actually, if he put Tebow in the I, he might have something ...

Disagree. I really dispise CUM, but the guy can flat out coach. You can't go undefeated at Utah and win 2 national championships all within 5 years and be called a bad coach.

How can some people watch one game and can then decide if a coach is good or not?

Bama fans do this all time when talking about CLM.

It was CUM that got Tebow to Florida and coached him to the player he is now. I think the man knows how to coach. Like him or not (I can't stand him) he's a damn good coach.

How long do you give a coach before you can look at his portfolio and try to cipher his rank?

Is Meyer to be judged using criteria you would use on all coaches, or just some coaches?

If you look at win pctg, then you will find Urban Meyer is not average.

If you look at number of trophies, then Urban meyer is not average.

The judgements on his abilities are not based wholly on facts or logic. Tebow will fail as a more conventional quarterback? When?

I do not know who WRT is, but he must not be the most objective of individuals.

Urban Meyer went 13-0 at Utah and won a national championship with Chris Leak as his starting quarterback. People who think all of his success is due to Tebow must forget about those things

Chris Leak was the #2 ranked QB in 2003. To think that he was a scrub and Meyer did a masterful coaching job to win the NC in 2006 is ludicrous. The Gators backed into the NCG in 2006 much the same way that they did in 1996.

Take away a Reggie Fish muff of a punt in the SECCG and a massive upset of USCw by UCLA and we're not even talking about this.

How did WE back in when OTHER teams screwed up their shot. If anything, USC pushed us into the game. You can't say UF backed into the game when it was other teams who screwed themselves out of the shot.

And Leak was a great QB, but he wasn't the type of QB Meyer was used to working with. Meyer adopted his entire offense around his players, something he continues to do. That's great coaching.

I can make an argument for Urban Meyer being the best but I can also make an argument against him being "the best".

I do not think a reasonable person can argue that Urban Meyer is an "average" coach.

Nor do I think a reasonable person can argue that WRT's favorite man, Hootie Nutt, is the best coach in college football. Or even great. Or even....
Need I go on?

yea that is all I am saying. It seems to make alot of mistakes in close games. I'm not talking about play calling necessarily. His ability to manage a clock , or blitzes, or tell his DC lets try this to stop this type of gimmick play we know they've been killing us with, lead me to think if you take away Tebow that guy would be out as fast as Ron Zook.

Meyer is no better than Zook, just luckier.

WOW is all I can say, leave it to a Bama fan to say some dumb shite like this. Hell I guess every team except Bama was lucky to win a NC. Thanks you for letting the rest of college football win one.
