It just seems the trees are used as flames against Alabama fans, and less about actually caring about the trees.
Link from a TD thread or any other credible source you feel backs up this claim.

And I don't think the traditon is stupid. I love every tradition in college football.
You're one of the few that don't think that then

Sorry hun, but I HAD to laugh at this.

Exactly, and if it goes to court, the defense will be that he was shite stirring and someone heard him and did what he said and sat back and is watching him take the fall for it.
I disagree with this Kaptin.
Soil tests can show how long the poison was in the soil/trees. It shouldn't be that hard to prove that they were poisoned when he claimed they were on that dumb arse show.

I dont think the tradition is stupid either but the punishment that some people want him to get doesnt fit the crime. That is my problem with the whole thing.

already covered this before you entered the thread.

Had to throw in the TD thread. If I'm not mistaken, a lot of Updyke/Tree threads on here have been started by other fan bases.

I have said before I think he needs to be strapped to the trees he poisoned and left there for a few weeks. Have iv fluids ran to him to keep him alive and hold a guard to make sure nobody throws anything at him worse than a tomato or something.

Well hot damn, I found another one
The REC may revoke your membership for admitting that. I agree that some people want a punishment that doesn't fit the crime, but I do think he should serve some time for what he did.

why do you think I asked for cliff notes when I entered the thread! Excuse me for thinking logically.
I'll give you this. The funny part is though the post I am referring to is actually the post immediately before your first post.

I do kind of have to agree that if he is the expert, then he should have known to take those kinds of things into consideration. And thats what a good defense attorney will say in the courtroom too if the defense is dumb enough to try to use that line of thinking, which I dont think they will. It will only lead to discredit the man's status as an expert.
If you are talking about the inital statement that he said, he tested and it was fine. That was a photosynthesis test on the leaves. The poison had not reached yet. He also stated he took soil samples for further testing to prove one way or another. Those soil samples are the ones that came back positive.
So the tree expert can be correct on all his accounts.

You got me here. I was unawares of this part of his initial statement. It still doesnt mean that someone couldnt have done it beforehand right after he called the FB show. This is assuming that he called FB before he called the university. Which I am pretty sure I recall reading that this is the case.

I think they can determine an approximate amount of time, like if done recently(day or so) and weeks prior. I do think they will have a hard time physically proving he did it. They will get him on his multiple confessions, 3 I believe. AU horticulture dept, Pawwwl, and the APD. The Lawyers can chime in here on that
