how much do I have to give to be a booster?
Nothing, just ask LSU. They list the NCAA definition of a booster on this handy dandy pdf.

Coach Saban was just on with Ian Fitzsimmons and someone Tweeted that Ian should ask about the Travis story. He replied back that he did and Saban said that the school sent the letter and that he could ban them from going if there was anything done wrong by the players but he doesnt think there was.

Well that is sort of anticlimactic. I wonder if since he and Emmert are friends, he called off the record and asked just to be safe.

I dont know. The interview was on air, I do know that. I looked at his Tweet's and the one before it said that Coach Saban was joining him and then someone sent him a message asking him to ask Coach what he thought about the Travis shite

Official Release:
Mike Ward, University of Alabama Associate Athletics Director for Compliance
Mike Ward, University of Alabama Associate Athletics Director for Compliance
quote:
"Our review of this matter was a part of our normal compliance program. We routinely look at all situations of potential concern. Based on our review of this matter, we concluded that Mr. Albetar was in compliance with NCAA regulations. It is not a violation for student-athletes to sign autographs and it is not a violation for a business to display photos, jerseys or other items depicting current student-athletes. We found no evidence that any student-athlete received any extra benefits. "Due to the concerns expressed in our letter to Mr. Albetar dated March 31, 2011, we disassociated him from our program. As we always do in matters of this nature, we discussed this matter with the SEC Office. Because we found no evidence of any NCAA violation, we did not self-report a violation. UA will continue to be proactive in all areas of compliance monitoring."

I don't understand how you read some of the stuff you read and come to the conclusions you do.

I'm confused, bama said he was in compliance and did nothing wrong, why disassociate themselves from him?
