LSU/Vandy for sure

State/USC have a chance, but not guaranteed.

Is there any history of bad blood between USC/UNC?

Never watched college baseball as much as I have this year. Love the move to the SEC.

Question for the SEC baseball fanatics. I noticed that 14 of the teams in were 1 seeds and the other 2 teams in so far are 2 seeds. Is that pretty typical? Obviously the 1 seeds are 1 seeds for a reason, but when I compare it to basketball, you get some 2's, 3's or 4's making the final 4 so I was wondering if you seldom see 3 and 4 seeds make it to the super regional or if this is the norm.

It's probably more than typical, but comparing the NCAA postseason in college baseball to the NCAA postseason in college basketball is not the same: in basketball, the NCAA tournament is structured for regional venues that have nothing really to do with top-seeded teams. So while you may play in an arena in North Carolina if you're a highly seeded NC program, for example, it's never in your own home arena.

In College Baseball, the top seeds in Regionals typically are hosting in their own baseball stadiums. And as such, they typically have a monopoly on the crowd factor, and are in familiar surroundings. This is why schools want to host their regionals so badly: just check out USC's home postseason win streak these days. It means something...

So you typically have a larger percentage of #1 seeds - who were regional hosts in their own venues - advancing on to the Supers. And you also see how most of the top teams every year jockey so hard to get those national seeds, which mean they also get to host the Super Regionals. For the better programs, it's almost a red-carpet ticket to ride straight to Nebraska....

That's why it's the worst kind of bad blood...it's old time, Hatfield & McCoy kind of bad blood...

Three SEC/ACC match-ups.. Well, UL will be in the ACC in a year, so two I guess.. How many SEC teams win their Supers? I say probably 2
I know it doesn't mean much of anything right now but Vandy beat Louisville @ Louisville 10-2 earlier in the regular season. I think them and LSU should advance. USC is playing good ball right now I think we'll make it Omaha for the 3rd straight year. Still, even though UNC had a tough time with FAU, I think they get their shite together this week and really bring it on Friday. State has a really tough draw going to Virginia but I wouldn't be surprised to see y'all in Omaha as well.

Georgia takes a back seat to this border rivalry. ( shh, don't tell them that, I feel safe mentioning it here because why would they be in a baseball thread?)

USC and UNC were both founding members of the ACC. We got tired of dealing with the tobacco road shite and UNC trying to run the conference. Plus, they think they're the real Carolina.

order of difficulty, imo:
MSU/UVA
SCar/UNC
Vandy/Louisville
LSU/OU

I think at least two advance but 4 wouldn't surprise me at all.

It could be a bigger rivalry if they'd stop pussing around and actually play us in something. We had a home and home (football) for '07 & '08 so we went up there first and beat 'em and they decided to buy their way out of returning to Cola. This year they're finally making the trip. We've played 55 games total.

UNC trying to run the conference.

That basketball exemption just about cost them. The Grant of Rights saved the ACC a lot of embarrassment.
