Any numbers to support this assertion?

No, my perception is that Oklahoma has a good defense but we don't see it because they have a great offense so any numbers I present would be irrelevant as I'm not claiming they have performed at a high level, only that they will when their offense is slowed down. I feel like you didn't read past the first line of my post.

And before you concern yourself with my fandom, I've had this opinion well before we lost in the SECCG.

Oops! My bad. I read your post wrong and thought it was a reply to my post. I see that now. Sorry...

You're right tho. Our defense is on the field more and we have to defend waaaaaay more plays/game than Georgia does.

Against these type of spread offenses that are lightening fast at scoring, the biggest threat is yourself to me. You aren't fully shutting them down, but you can slow them down. If you however, make a mistake here, one there, you find yourself in catch up mode, pressing and being anxious, and often getting blown out.

This is one of the problems with the Bama Blueprint. It's dangerous if you're not an expert at it. Auburn beat both Alabama and Georgia very easily -- by making their quarterbacks beat them.

If it's Fromm vs. Mayfield -- if Oklahoma even gets up by 10, I've got my money on Mayfield. Doesn't mean that Georgia doesn't just run it at will, it just means that if they space out again, if they have a tiny moment where they let Oklahoma get to the point where Georgia has to pass it twice during a set of downs, they might be in for a world of hurt.

If only OU could borrow Auburns defensive line theyd be set.

You guys are right. UGa doesnt have a hope of stopping OU.

You convinced me.

This is referred to as a 'straw man' argument.

It often goes both ways.

You'll see game manager QB+running game vs fast spread offense with a superstar QB either be a game in which the team with the game manager is successful in not comitting mistakes, is efficient offensively, and wins a 35-28ish type game, or you'll see the game with mistakes, the team with the game manager panics because of them, and loses 48-28. A decent offensive day, but because you had mistakes and lost your composure you were blown out.

Ohio State is pretty elite at running the football. JK Dobbins is an elite RB.

What kind of numbers did OSU put up in that game?

Dobbins had 72 yds and 1TD.

On the season he has 181 carries / 1364 yds / 7TDs (6.1 AVG)

He splits carries with Mike Weber.

I don't think Georgia has an elite running game. I really don't. But yes Oklahoma would struggle against a truly elite running game.

Yes I know, UGA played high school teams all season so pay no attention to #11 total rush rank.

Alabama isn't elite either at #10 right?

You have to remember that they're playing remarkably better quarterbacks in the Big XII than they are in the SEC East. Good quarterbacks open up the running lanes, in Georgia's case good running backs open up the throwing lanes.

OU has been poor against the run because they actually play teams that pass. Fromm has a game where he's thrown 7 times (total) because the running game is so good -- but you can look at other games where he has to throw more than usual (Mizzou and most notably Auburn) -- he is not an elite quarterback.

Hell, we don't even know if he's average until he actually has to carry the team on his back and throw to win -- which he only needed to do against those two aforementioned teams. One game he looked good, the other he looked very bad.

No this is the logical inference from their case that UGA has not played any good offenses this year.

As they always say, you are who you look like.

Georgia isn't 2016 Auburn and may lose but for different reasons than 2016 Auburn.
Oklahoma is going to score points but isn't invincible on offense.
