Question.
I saw that Mayfield only threw the ball 19 times against Baylor? Why? Was it just the coaches decision because of Baylor's defense? I though it unusual.

Abdul Adams 11 164 14.9 1TD 99
Trey Sermon 12 148 12.3 2TD 60

Baker Mayfield 13/19 283 14.9 3TD

Baker Mayfield has faced and beaten defenses better at getting to the qb than UGA is. Their pass rush can honestly be underwhelming at times unless Roquan Smith is sent

That is sort of the Smart defense MO - not sure how it will end up playing out but was one thing I saw out of Pruitt when he came to Alabama - a lot more pressure. Now when the pressure gets there its great, when it doesn't get there in time it can be a big problem.

Clemson plays FSU every year and has seriously been a threat for half a decade now...as an LSU fan who thought they’d breeze through them in the toilet bowl I can tell you they’re not to be underestimated at any point in the last few years.

And yes, Oklahoma has faced some really good rushing attacks (Auburn, Ohio State). Maybe not as good as 3 really good RBs but if UGA’s rushing attack has been shut down before it can be shut down again

Bruh, if you are indeed an LSU fan you should know how depleted that O was when they played OU last year.

Of course the SEC is better all in all. But Oklahoma could probably mop the floor with 90% of the conference right now.

That’s like me saying Oklahoma won a natty this century and UGA hasn’t in 35+ years so they have no chance

No your league had Meyer and Saban coaching in the same league at the same time. That's what it shows.

They did exactly what they’ll try to do to UGA:

Key in on the rushing attack and let Baker Mayfield do his thing

The significance is their offenses. The BIG 12 has been known for wide open offenses for a few years now. If that was the key to winning championships, you would think they would have done so by now. They haven't.

Not sure why people want to reframe this to be Georgia when we are clearly talking about Offensive and defensive styles of a conference and not a single team. History proves that the way to titles is with a hard nosed running game and a stout defense. Control the clock. More often than not, that team wins the title.

Need proof? In our 7 year run Bama, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and LSU won titles. It could be argued Florida had a wide open style offense, but all the others were better known for defense and running.

I have no problem with people disagreeing with me or asking questions, as long as I feel like they aren't trolling. You don't seem to be. You are asking many of the same questions I might be asking if I were you.

You're a lying motherfricker....actually you're just another butt-hurt coonass who's jealous of the successful SEC teams around the league, and has to bitch and moan about it.

Interesting, I forgot that Saban and Meyer coached and won all of those championships.

Dude. I asked a simple question. I don't care that y'all ran the ball more. I get that. What I am asking is do you have a theory as to why? Oklahoma typically throws a lot more than that. Why not against Baylor? What was different? I am just curious...not trying to make a point or trap you into something.

I hope so. People have done that all season long. What makes you think the Sooners will have any more luck?

Not sure how you got that out of what I said. I’m happy UGA has a chance to win a natty after underachieving and being so close for 15+ years and I really think we will see mass suicide or riots or something crazy this time if they don’t make it.

But regardless of my own personal feelings Oklahoma should win this game

What?

I seem to remember Gus saying they were 100% during bowl prep and reading how much trouble we were in for on the Auburn board on as a result.

White started the game and got hurt. Pettway was supposed to run all over us because we weren't physical and hadn't seen a RB like him all year, like Chubb or something, and that didn't happen. We also weren't supposed to be able to handle their NFL front 7 which was supposed to be the top SEC defense in the league cuz 5*s and stuff.

Yeah, you're definitely NOT trying to be an a-hole. Stop trying to act like a LSU fan frick off.

They talk about everyone else being butthurt but they come here in droves and walking funny because someone said OU has the best chance to win.

''Baker Mayfield, Stidham, same guy, right?''
