I'm not surprised that you're taking up for your fellow UGA fan but if you're still on scholarship you aren't "kicked off the team." That's REALLY stretching semantics to think otherwise.

Wrong again. They understand that a person, you in this instance, lost the argument as soon as they are reduced to semantics. All that matters is if he played again, and he didnt. You lose.

There are actions to protect the university
... i.e. immediate suspension.
And there are actions that strip the player's rights... forcibly removing from class (scholarships are paid at the beginning of the semester. I don't think there is such a thing as taking back a scholarship mid-semester).
Removing from class when the player hasn't been formally charged, processed, or given his day in court opens up the university to a wrongful breach lawsuit. That doesn't protect the university either.
Think a little.
You are honestly arguing that he pay back his scholarship pro-rata (that had already been paid).
Or arguing that he be kicked out of classes when he has not been deemed a threat to the public by a judge (i.e. no bail)?
Don't be a simpleton.
