We all know why he didn't play. No one is questioning his courage. He wanted to play today - no doubt about that. My point, if you can possibly follow it, is that he just called his team a bunch of quitters in a game that he didn't play in because he was hurt.
In the history of sports, has anyone ever heard of such a thing? I haven't. If you are hurt and don't get your uniform dirty, you keep your freaking mouth shut. Yes, he was right. His team quit. But, deal with that on Monday. Grab them by the facemask this week and chew them out. Don't sit behind a podium in your clean uniform after you watched your team get beat 52-0 at home and you held a clipboard and tell the world that they quit but you are going to take over.
I don't care how mad you are about what happened, that was a bad move.

And that proves my point. A leader doesn't do that.
No one is saying he didn't want to play. But, because HE DIDN'T PLAY, he has no right to PUBLICLY say that the team quit. He could have said a lot of things.
We are going to get better.
This is not the end. We are going to fight from here on out.
We'll be back next week.
We will put this behind us.
I believe in these guys.

But, instead, he told the world that his team quit.
A team that had to play without him because he was hurt.
A leader doesn't do that. He might be the only leader that Arkansas has, but that is a problem. He needs to do better - at least in what he says publicly.
