1- On Rivals Radio this morning some guy was on there saying that Jevan's decision to go pro might have had other factors to it besides being ready for the NFL. Does anyone know what he was alluding to? Family needs money? Problems with coaching staff?

2- Same guy goes on talking about some DT, last name Powe possibly, and saying how if he pans out this year he'll be a top 10 pick and his story of redemption would be a better story than the blind side. Anyone know the cliff notes of this guys story?

TIA

As far as snead goes, yes it had more to do with his dad being out of work for so long as his family needing money more than him actually thinking he was talented enough to skip his senior year. Also Nutt wasnt guaranteeing him a starting job next year so the fact that he might not even start aided his decision to skip to the NFL.

Now with Powe, Im not sure what they are referring to. There was this huge struggle about getting him into school, but cant imagine its cinematic material. But yea he's for real and is probably top 3 DT in the nation right now.

They talked about his mentors wanting him to go to CFL to get $$ right away and how his mom had said some thigns in the paper that he was dumb and couldn't read, but they never gave a synopsis of the whole story.

Luckily all powe has to do is tackle the guy with the ball, Miles actually has to do bigger things

Actually, he can read. After rumors surfaced that he couldn't, he went on a Memphis talk show and read something they handed him at random. He knows what he's doing.

Problem is, in the SEC, nobody want's to hear that shite. They want to hear about how big and dumb they want to believe he is.

Yea that was Neal Mcready for our rivals site on with bill king on rivals radio.

The whole thing with Powe's reading level is so overblown it is comical. If you see an interview with him you will see a soft, but well-spoken young man. If anyone should be embarrassed it should be the Wayne County school district. Powe got all the way through HS before they realized he had dyslexia, how fricking sad is that?

Him being diagnosed with dyslexia led to the famous instance of his mom mentioning on a radio station that he couldn't read. She was saying that in reference to his dyslexia but of course no one wants to hear that right??

I am not trying to be a homer but I can't help pulling for the guy. I played against him in HS and have met and spoke with him several times up here. If he was representing Bama, LSU, Aub, all of those fans would love him the same way. He is a class act and never even let quitting enter his mind throughout his tough path to where he is now.

i think most understand this. but saying he cant read is funniererereer.

i mean no one on lsu's campus eats corn dogs, but i dont see that stopping anyone from making the joke. same concept.

I was at Chili's once when Powe and a couple of other football players came in. ANd i kid you not they ordered their food or whatever no big deal. Well when they brought it out i happened to see that there were two pieces of Cheesecake on a plate. The waitress handed them both to Powe and that was all he ate. Me and my buddies got a good laugh out of that
