A&M has one team left on the slate to go undefeated. Does BAS win, or does she die forever? Stay tuned

We'll see. It would be quite the accomplishment.

I think most of us Horn fans have felt some version of “amazed” all season. Like you said amazed that we kept it so close w Ohio State given Arch’s case of the yips, amazed how good our defense was given the losses to NFL, amazed how terrible our OL and running game are, amazed how suddenly our secondary has more holes than Swiss cheese, and yes, amazed at Arch’s improvement as the season has progressed. Not sure it’s our year to beat A&M though. I’ve been saying this since after the ND game but A&M has looked like the most consistent and balanced team in the country all year. Reed’s improvement since last year is phenomenal, and I can’t remember a better A&M offense in my life. I just think the combination of Concepcion (and I forget other receivers name) combined with Reed’s run threat will be too much for this defense. Maybe not last year’s defense but this years. Combine that with the fact that we have no run game to help keep your offense off the field. I just think our defense and OL will need the game of their lives to get a W

NIL is a game change for A&M. We will buy whatever we need. The transfer portal ensures every year we can essentially have our pick of whoever we want. And it’s legal.

Now Texas can do the same thing. So every year from here on out it will come down to coaching. Not if your a blue blood or not.

And our coach is better than yours. So the game has changed. It ain’t like it used to be.

Blue bloods are dead.

You have to be able to use the portal "well". Elko has been great at not getting mercenaries but talented players that will buy in. That is the difference

100%. Yankees have proven many times over that you can't buy a championship. The talent has to yield/buy-in to the culture or else you're just coaching a bunch of head cases.

I know Sark is big on bringing in guys that fit the culture. I just think he severely misjudged the talent he had in-house last offseason. I don't expect him to make the same mistake this offseason. If he does then it may be his last in Austin.

And in reply to another post, there will always be blue bloods. Teams like Bama, OU, LSU, Georgia, Texas, Ohio State, Michigan will always be a draw regardless. That's why teams pull down their goalposts after beating a 5-7 Texas team.

NIL will definitely help level the playing field though and lead to more upsets of blue bloods.

And if Tech keeps doing what they're doing for 20-30 years they'll become a blue blood. Time will tell

TU? Good God.

Had anybody except for Faggies fans heard of that abbreviation before Texas joined the SEC?

Here I thought SEC schools cared about traditions and history.

Texas used to go by "Texas University" as their common name similar to OU and many others even though the official name is the University of Texas. It's most common slang is in the Aggie War Hymn that refers to "Goodbye to Texas University" and "Saw Varsity's Horns off" because Texas originally had "Varsity" as their name as well.

The War Hymn was written in 1918 by Pinky Wilson while he was in a trench in France fighting the Germans in WWI. He knew it as "Texas University" and "Varsity" before they decided to change their names.

We just like reminding our younger and smaller sibling of their history.
