The FBI stuff makes for some good drama but Dan wetzel ( who wrote "sole influence" in 1999) told clay Travis last week that this stuff may drag out 2-3 years before there's any closure. Chuck person's trial doesn't begin until October. What will probably happen is there will be wrist slaps and rule changes. Our league doesn't need any blowback because we re on the verge of being the top basketball conference and frankly I don't see it "shaking the foundations" of CBB as some of these clickbait writers like to imply.

False

Arkansas will take a big steps back and Florida and Missouri will take slight steps back. Alabama and A&M could take steps back based on draft decisions. Georgia will be replacing Maten although I doubt they're awful. South Carolina might be incrementally better but I don't expect huge things. Ole Miss is gonna be really fricking bad.

Mississippi State and LSU take steps forward. Vanderbilt might be a bit better but replacing LaChance and Roberson won't be easy even if they're replacing them with 5*. Auburn and Tennessee will be about the same unless the FBI raids Auburn.

So I'm seeing a slight net downgrade. If guys like Hall, Davis, and Gafford come back it'll still be pretty strong but probably not as strong as this year.

Bama isn't losing anyone but sexton unless petty and hall tear it up in the tourney and we go to the final 4. Otherwise we re not taking a step back next year

Hall is a Top 5 big in the conference right now and would likely be drafted. There's a very real chance he leaves especially if he plays well in the tourney and he'd be a massive loss.

It's very possible that Petty, Jones, and Giddens take massive steps forward to replace Sexton and maybe Hall but it's also possible that they don't and that Bama takes a slight step back

Just don't see it with what we re adding. Hall could go if he has a big postseason but he's a projected 2nd rounder as of now. I think he may work out and get some feedback, as may petty. But I expect that they'll listen to Avery and return. We also are adding a good class plus tevin Mack . I think giddens , Reese, and Smith will improve also.

Also key and Ingram return....So we ll have seasoned upperclassmen to go with a solid recruiting class.

Are any of Bama's 2018 signees impact freshmen? I don't see it. Maybe Butler takes Jr's minutes.

I do forget Tevin Mack is at Bama. He'll be another scoring option.

My biggest thing with Bama next year is that I'm skeptical of Ingram as a lead guard. Not sure if he's dynamic enough for that role on a good team. But if Hall stays, that's a tournament team. If he leaves idk.

Butler is really underrated, saying alot since he's a 4 star .Ingram will play off the ball. Herb has played the point in spots this year. Mack and key should be good scoring options along with petty. Gotta get more consistent on the glass but I think we can improve there.

I'd give Bowen a 50/50 shot of ever actually playing

And, yes, Siva is good, but he's clearly not enough. Plus Booker and Myers are gone. Are you going to plug in more grad transfers or is Rah Felder going to be the savior?

Yep. He was the only pg target Avery really honed in on... Butler knew Sexton was a one and done. Didn't know alot about butler in the beginning but the kid can flat out play... Probably a better pure shooter than Sexton and very steady decision maker .
