As someone who's been a fan of a school that has Frank Wilson on staff, I can relate what's he's meant to LSU...

Everything.

Great coach...LSU went from the eleventh best rushing team in 2009 to fourth best in the SEC in 2010.

Fantastic recruiter. Responsible for virtually all of LSU's biggest signees since he's been here.

I wouldn't trade him for anyone else.

He was the 5th best recruiter on staff for Tennessee last year. O, Lane, Thompson, and Gran were all much better. His only commitment for 2010 was Kendrick Adams and Lane and O told him to look elsewhere when Wilson went to LSU.

He was at Tennessee. Now he's back in his stomping ground. He is well-known to all the top high school coaches in Louisiana.

At Bama we don't need towel wavers. We just need our players have motivation beat into them till they can't move and are crying for more.

Really?

You forget those 24 points you choked away already?

All I'm saying is that he was pretty useless when not at LSU, who gets pretty much anyone they want from Louisiana anyway

You're so wrong it's hilarious.

Ever wonder why Freak Johnson was committed to Tennessee?

And LSU has lost PLENTY of recruits from Louisiana.

Ed Reed, Reggie Wayne, the Mannings, Warrick Dunn, Travis Minor, Trovon Reed, Janzen Jackson, Joe McKnight, etc.

You might be the biggest homer on this board and that is saying something with all these Bama people.

Weren't ya'll up 21 on us last year when we started to come back? At least I haven't heard any Bama fans saying "we were winning for 49 minutes". That's all we heard last year about how you were ahead for 58 minutes. Ok, you won, and you're playing in the championship. Please be aware that we know you don't know how to act because you've never been there, but trust us, this isn't the way. You're just going where the rest of us have already been. Learn from everyone else.

No AU was never up by 21 in last years Iron Bowl.

The halftime score was 14-14.

And that's just the recruiting side. As I mentioned before, he's done a great job with the RB's. Just look at the season Stevan Ridley had.

I'm glad he's at LSU. If there was ever a coaching change...Miles to Michigan for example...I know the first guy on the staff every LSU fan would want the new head coach to keep would be Frank Wilson.

I don't think I exaggerate at all when I say that.

I hope that was a Trooper Taylor reference, and not about Frank Wilson.

Ol' Dolla' Trooper did wonders for Tulane's football program, leaving a trail of $10 bills wherever he went, too. References of pushing the envelope always seem to follow him. I'm very interested to see if anything comes out on the Trevon Reed recruitment before this all washes out.

More Background -

Didn't see it posted before but ask the Head Coach at St. Aug's in New Orleans what he thinks about TT. The story goes something like this.....

Taylor showed up on campus wanting to visit with a few of the players after practice. His attire you ask? Hat turned backwards, oversized shirt untucked and hanging underneath some sort of jacket. St. Aug's HC 1st thought he was some sort of dealer on campus and was ready to call the cops, but he walked up to TT and asked him what the @#&^$@ he was doing there. After TT introduced himself and asked the coach if he could visit with some of the players, the Coach responded, "Not Dressed like a Thug, you won't" He told TT to come back the next day dressed appropriately and without his cap if he wanted access to the team.

It's been posted on here somewhere before. Props to the HC

TO answer your question, No Thanks. He may be a player's coach, but how about a players coach these kids can look up to as a role model.

Couldn't care less about your wr's in 08 compared to 09. He was already at Tennessee once and would I want him back? HELL NO. I mean, you could be the world champion dog$h1t eater but who are you gonna brag to? You're still eating dog$h1t.
