Not sure why so many people are so butthurt about you posting this chart. I like stuff like this, so thanks for posting.
I did find it surprising Alabama has a low % of plays that go 20+ yards, is that correct?

It should be.
Not at the command center, but I can dive deeper into that if you’d like once I get back.
And it’s because of the thread title. People have problems thinking critically beyond a headline and/or 280 characters or fewer.

Looks like LSU is also listed as having a low % of plays go 20+ yards. I expect that on that one specific stat the list was accidentally flipped top to bottom, as I would assume both of these offenses are amongst the most explosive as opposed to least explosive in the country.
Lots of great match ups though on both sides of the ball. Definitely in the favor of the offenses, but the defenses aren’t as bad as much of the talk would have one believe.

Yep. The percentages are correct but the rankings are inverted. LSU should be 5, Alabama 6.
20-yard plays
LSU Offense - 56 (Total offensive plays: 568)
Bama Offense - 51 (Total offensive plays: 525)

Bama should run the ball and control the LOS. Take air out of game, beat up the defensive linemen and then go over the top in the middle of second half.

I disagree. I think if they do that and our excellent run defense continues to be excellent, then they could be down 14 by the end of the first quarter.
I think if you’re Saban you have to go with your #1 strength against our relatively (compared to the rush defense) weak passing defense.
