You are entitled to your opinion, though you are wrong.

Mathieu is, by far, the best freshman on defense in the SEC, followed by Mosley.

On offense, it's Lattimore, and it ain't even close after that.

I never even mentioned defense.

I just said he wasn't the best freshman in the SEC.

23 tackles 2.5 sacks 3 tackles for loss 3 forced fumbles 2 fumble recoveries

lsusports didn't have the picks but his stats prove you wrong esp for limited playing time. when he is on the field the kid makes plays

Lattimore has 460 yards and 8 touchdowns, and is averaging 4.3 yards per carry. Those are more imppressive stats, and are more important to his team.

Lattimore > Mathieu

4.3 yards per carry is pedestrian at best. I still think Lattimore is more important to his team -- but that's no slight to Mathieu at all.

For a true freshman in the SEC who has already touched the ball over 100 times. You're joking right?

Richardson averaged 5.2 ypc on the ground over 145 attempts his freshman year.

Lattimore is very very good. He's more of a do-it-all type, he's catching passes, blocking etc.. as a freshman He definitely plays beyond his years.

145 on the entire season that included mostly clean up duty.

Lattimore is at 107 carries through 6 games. He's already played through the toughest part of his schedule that YPC will probably go up.

TR is great, but they aren't really comparable circumstances.

You can't compare a RB and DB......

BOTH are very important to the teams they play for and Lattimore will probably be SEC Freshman POY

But...as of right now.....either would be very deserving. YOU can't argue that RB is the easiest position for a freshman to do well at.

So...TM gets the nod for being so good...young.....and on D.

Lattimore>Dyer for now. Dyer has tremendous upside, but he`s still figuring things out. Corey Lemonier at DE for auburn is going to be a beast. He`s getting a lot of playing time and has made some plays.

Damn, Jed. Did TM steal your girl or kick your dog or something?

How in the world can you not acknowledge how good TM is? The guy isn't just making tackles. He's making game-chagning plays on a regular basis. He's making plays that veterans on a REALLY good defense aren't making. That play Saturday v. Florida where he stripped the ball and recovered it was phenomenal. He also tipped a pass on a blitz.

Why don't you give us the list of freshmen playing better than Mathieu right now. We'll wait.
