Mike Blakely will be a name to keep an eye on. Obviously wouldn't out him top 5 since he hasn't played yet, but he could be the best AU back on campus right now

Eddie Lacy
LSU's stable of backs (Choose one)
Christine Michael

Lattimore - coming off major injury. cant buy this stock yet
Knile Davis - same thing. wait and see
Lacy - OLine mostly returns, he definitely gets more carries. buy this stock
LSU stable - OLine mostly returns, gotta break in new QB. buy this stock
Christine Michael - injury + moving to SEC. sell, sell, sell

other notables:

Crowell - if he stays in school, buy it. splitting carries with the new FR might help keep him healthy
O-Mac - correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt O-Mac the active career leading in yards in the SEC heading into next season? regardless, he should be a big part of AU's offense

So, with Magee and Hill to go along with Ware, Ford, Hilliard, and Blue, we have 6 guys who will be able to pound and strafe a defense all game long, running behind the 280 lb. JC Copeland. If Mett can open up the passing game and get the 8-9 guys out of the box, LSU should be able to run even better next year.

We'll see, but at this point, I need something to look forward to after last night.

Christine Michael has an Adrian Peterson way of running. He runs angry, and hits the hole fast. He is fast, yet displays much power. Dude is just a hoss. Its unfortunate he has gotten hurt the past two years in the second half of the season. Gray and Michael were already a badass running back tandem, but it would have been better to have both of them the past two seasons.

Christine Michael - injury

Much easier to recover from a torn ACL than from a tib/fib fracture that he suffered in the 2010 season...He had 900 yards in less than 9 full games after recovering from that injury.

If Davis' injury was ACL/MCL, I could see that. But he just broke a bone. He's been running/working out on it for months now. He's recovered from similar injuries before. I think he'll be fine.

But I love Lacy. I may be the only one, but I've always liked him more than Trent Richardson.

Nope... unless our O-line has a COMPLETE 180, I doubt any UGA backs will really challenge for the top 5. Maybe top freshman for KM though. Maybe as another poster said it keeps Crowell healthy (if he stays?) and he an rise above below average run blocking and worse play calls?

Not really. You probably are already familiar with Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, Auburn, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi State if you're more than a casual fan.

that makes him seem like even more of a gamble. i think yall's OLine will give you a good chance of having a successful running attack if your coaching staff committs to running the ball and your defense keeps you in ball games. but is Michael gonna be the guy to carry the load? if he's your workhorse, then yall got a busted arse workhorse.

Fortunately, we have Trey Williams, Ben Malena, and Marion Grice (if he doesn't flip to OU).

At the end of this past season, we only had Malena because Mister Jones transferred and Will Randolph's shirt was burned in game 11 (WTF Sherman?)

a #1 overall draft pick in Tim Couch for starters.

One of the most dynamic young players in the NFL in Randall Cobb.

Stevie Johnson is better known for his Tweets but he's a huge name none the less.

Wesley Woodyard is up there too.
