2005 NFL Draft

Oklahoma 11 - Auburn 4?

Now overall NFL Draft totals for the next few years based on players who saw playing time on the 2004 teams, not sure.

As we saw this season the NFL draft is a difficult science. It is often wrong and the better players aren't always selected earlier. A better predictor of talent is players who received 2nd contracts. It shows they actually had NFL talent verses looking like they had it.

Auburn blew the doors off Oklahoma with this in 2004 and had a slight edge over USC.

Since it is silly to even waste time comparing Oklahoma vs Auburn I'll just post the USC vs 2004 Auburn info.

2004 Auburn vs USCw (Who was more talented?)

The hype machine consistently made USCw out to be a NFL minor league team, but was it more show than substance?
*Contributing Players who played in the NFL from 2004 rosters
Auburn-24 (Silas Daniels 9 year career in CFL and is still active but not included)
USCw-27
*Total NFL years Played Combine

Auburn-136 years
USCw-104 years
*Total Players Who Did Not Make it out of 3 year NFL Rookie Window
Auburn-5 players
USCw-14 players
*Total NFL Pro Bowls
Auburn-8 Pro Bowls (1 Rookie of the Year)
USCw-9 Pro Bowls
*Total Players Still Active in NFL
(Auburn was an older squad in 2004 having more players drafted earlier 2005-2006 than USCw eventually had more players drafted for the two rosters but Auburn still has more players from those teams in the NFL currently.)
Auburn-11 players
USCw-5 players
*Auburn OL vs USCw DL (O-line consisted of 5 that played D-line consisted of a 9 man rotation)
Auburn-19 years played in the NFL 2 pro bowl appearances and 2 players still active in the NFL
USCw-34 years played in the NFL 2 players still active
*Auburn DL vs USCw OL (O-line consisted of 5 that played D-line consisted of a 7 man rotation)
Auburn-31 years played in the NFL 4 pro bowl appearances and 4 players still active in the NFL
USCw-16 years played in the NFL 4 pro bowl appearance and 1 player still active in the NFL
*Auburn QB vs USCw QB
No reason to go into this...since JC was the only QB to have an actual NFL career.

Some of this info is dated, but it paints the overall picture.
