that is required for someone to go through the effort of what Updyke did.
Yeah, it's not like he snapped and went ballistic. It was fairly well planned and he would have gotten away with it had he kept his trap shut.

What HU did was mean, dumb and sucks for those Au fans that had a special attachment to the two Toomer's Corner Trees. My sympathies and well wishes for those Au persons. For the Au fans that are all upset and crying. What are those things in the background with the all those green leaves and toilet Paper in them? Seems like the Tree Rolling Tradition can continue just a few steps away from the Street Corner Trees. It may not be quite the same but it's not like all of a sudden you won't be able to continue the shite ticketing of trees after a win in that same area. It will all work out for yawl's tradition to continue, just have to win the games!
Sometimes you don't have to chime in about something...especially if you miss the point.
Sure it will continue, and hopefully even look better in time, and the trees behind it will be rolled...but for the sake of hyperbole, we could also fly a carrier pigeon around the stadium before kick off...they're both birds, they both accomplish the goal goal of getting fans to cheer, but they aren't the same.
Also, what's 'yawl's' am I missing something?

True. Guy reads posts and hears comments from 10 or 20 Alabama fans. Since he obviously wouldn't be caught dead associating with Bama fans on a social basis, those few fans make up the vast majority of Alabama fans in his little universe.
Well detectives, I have many Alabama fans and have been to over 50 Alabama games. In fact, I have more Alabama fans as friends than Auburn fans, they are good outstanding individuals. It is typically easy to separate the Bama fans who could not find Tuscaloosa with a map, from those that actually attended the Capstone. That is not a 100% absolute rule, but the Updykes are the problem.
Also this is an anonymous internet board, used for poking some fun at your rival. I enjoy it, otherwise I would not do it. I am not here for you.

ugh you never do other auburn fans any favors and typically just act as a lightning rod for the gist of the thread to be missed because you're giving them an out of 'hey look at the crazy auburn fan' so they don't have respond to reasonable posts.
By the way i haven't read any of your post in this thread i'm just assuming from past experiences so if i'm way off base, my bad.

First, it is MORE than one fan.
All those Alabama fans who took pictures with Updyke and got autographs in NO obviously approved of what Updyke did.
"All those Alabama fans"...yeah, all two of them. Now we're up to three lunatics.

And the Alabama fans who showed up on A-Day decked out in anti-AU clothes.
What's that...another three or four?

Look I understand it's not your entire fan base who feels this way, but there are a lot who do, so stop it with the 1 lunatic bs.
Fine...I'll even toss in a couple more to be conservative. Let's call it 8 lunatics. Even if they were all alumni...which they obviously aren't...it would amount to .03% of the national alumni association.
All the over-dramatization is why people don't take you seriously.

And we aren't talking about someone who was fired from his job, or had a domestic dispute. We are talking about someone who couldn't distinguish college football from reality.

Are you going to watch E:60 tonight?

Good grief. What a depressing photo. Shame.
Sucks to see a beloved tradition come to an end for thousands of people because of a single dumbass.

No, I read the article. I am sure it will be a slam job against Auburn. Put on your tin hats: Why are they running it the same day the trees came down? Which announced first?

Well, because it's an anonymous message board we can only go by your post history. And you like to wallow in the mud of scandals, rumors, evil of Alabama fans / righteousness of Auburn fans quite a bit, so I was just making a judgment based on that.

What HU did was wrong no doubt but he aided in getting done what needed to be done years ago. The trees were already dead and been almost dead for years before he poisoned them. Auburn was in denial about it. It's like having an old blind, cripple dog with bad kidneys and heart but you just can't bring yourself to take him to the vet and have him put to sleep because you love him so much. Harvey put the trees to sleep for the barners but it wasn't his place to do it. Either way the trees needed to go!

My opinion is trees used as the diversion.

Absolutely...nor are we here for you. When we make fun of you while we converse with each other, we're doing it to poke fun at you. If you happen to get your panties in a wad about it, well, it's not worth the time to even think about.

Actually they were recovering quite nicely and would have stood for decades before Updyke poisoned them
This has been covered in this thread already I believe

Guilty of all of that. I see a lot of that from fans from both sides. You could easily swap out many Bama posters names.
