the correct term for this is roll DAMN tide, signed Harvey and a large percentage of the Bama fan base.

Do you think the guys who cut it down got paid to do it? What a great job. They could have auctioned off that job and made enough money for new trees.

but I know it was not 90% that truly hated it for Auburn, more like 10%...

How would you know this? I doubt that you know 10% of all the Bama fans personally, and have no idea how they feel about this. It just helps give Auburn fans something to whine about if they can blame the entire fan base of their rival instead of the one idiot that did it. I can only speak for myself, but I would not have cared if they strung the guy up from one of those trees. I just don't believe in messing with someone's property, and I include pranks in on that. I believe in leaving your stuff alone, and I expect the same from you. I don't think the silly pranks pulled by Auburn fans to our statues and grass justify what Updyke did, but I'd prefer that they would leave them alone.
I just wonder if the trees had died on their own because of the constant power washing instead of being poisoned would Auburn fans have had this major production for the removal.

I'm still amazed that the sole reason behind their (expedited) death was a photo of a Cam Newton jersey duct-taped to the Bear Bryant statute for about 15 minutes.

Only an Alabama Fan would get so pissed off about that that he would buy hundreds of dollars in poison and drive 40 miles to disperse said poison in the middle of the night.

He doesn't. allin2010 seems to be one of those Auburn fans that is actually glad that Updyke did what he did so that he can have some internet ammo to denigrate the Alabama fanbase. The pleasure in being able to do this outweighs any feigned pain from losing the trees for people like him.

That was rumored to have been done by some sorority girls (I think from both Bama and Auburn).

First, it is MORE than one fan. All those Alabama fans who took pictures with Updyke and got autographs in NO obviously approved of what Updyke did. And the Alabama fans who showed up on A-Day decked out in anti-AU clothes. Look I understand it's not your entire fan base who feels this way, but there are a lot who do, so stop it with the 1 lunatic bs.

The trees were not dying. Studies have been done and the results show the trees were actually doing better.

What HU did was mean, dumb and sucks for those Au fans that had a special attachment to the two Toomer's Corner Trees. My sympathies and well wishes for those Au persons.

For the Au fans that are all upset and crying. What are those things in the background with the all those green leaves and toilet Paper in them? Seems like the Tree Rolling Tradition can continue just a few steps away from the Street Corner Trees. It may not be quite the same but it's not like all of a sudden you won't be able to continue the shite ticketing of trees after a win in that same area. It will all work out for yawl's tradition to continue, just have to win the games!

True. Guy reads posts and hears comments from 10 or 20 Alabama fans. Since he obviously wouldn't be caught dead associating with Bama fans on a social basis, those few fans make up the vast majority of Alabama fans in his little universe.

To me the actual trees are inconsequential in the absolute delusion for a football program that is required for someone to go through the effort of what Updyke did.

Have you lost your mind? What kind of twisted logic is that? I certainly wish that Alabama did not have such deranged fans, but to even suggest I was happy over Updyke is stupid. I hate him to the core, I hate what he did, I hate the Bama fans that support him, I hate that we will not have the trees anymore...
