For? Even if they aren't having an affair, a winning lawsuit would require them finding proof of a coordinated effort by university employees to get this rumor out there. The rumor started on discord
If it really came from the boosters, and it isn't true, you could probably sue them if you found proof. You won't find it, though.

That would be an even dumber move than the kneejerk $49 million they gave Gustav like 6 weeks after they wanted to fire him. But at the same time, a mere vote of confidence from the school President and/or AD isn't going to do anything to dispel any of the rumors at this point.
