Hell, even when Tebow was a sophomore and Cam was a freshman the competition wasn't close. It's not like Tebow had a ton more experience than Cam did in 2007. Tebow's a better all around player.

Your coach also thought Brantley was better than Cam. How's that working out?

tough call..

I can't think of anything that Tebow did that Cam could not do. Tebow had some absolutely unreal talent around him too..

I'm gonna go with Cam.

Cam has Tebow's size but more speed and moves. Passing I would say is about even.

I'm sure it has been said already in this thread, but considering Cam has already surpassed the QB rushing record in the SEC through only eight games with less of a supporting cast,i'm going with Cam...

if newton was never kicked off the team he would have received just as much hype as brantley.

it's called unrealistic expectations by fans something we here at LSU know alot about

What, do they take a poll down there to select QBs?

Not sure that I agree with this. Auburn has a nice group of skill position players.

But it's not Percy Harvin, Hernandez, Demps/Rainey.

no. brantley was just much better in practice than cam. maybe cam is just really good in game situations. maybe the season is still early and the verdict is still out on both cam and johnny. maybe both offensive schemes (aub and uf) are helping/hindering each player. cam was behind brantley while at uf....the coaches, players, cam himself, etc could all see it. hell, many people were pushing for JB to get playing time over tebow when he struggled at times (especially in redzone situations)

They don't have a Percy Harvin but their RB and WR are very good. Auburn has nice group of offensive weapons everywhere. Cam is not playing with chopped liver by any means. Dyer, Mccaleb, Fannin are excellent, Adams is one of the best WR in the league and the rest are very good.

Nope. Chop a life and they pull you off the field right quick.

WRONG.
In 2007, as a freshman, Newton earned the spot over other freshman quarterback John Brantley as the back-up for star quarterback and eventual Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow.
Cam Started against Hawaii in 08 and then was red-shirted.

pretty sure brantley was injured to begin the 2007 (arm/wrist) and that's why cam was #2 at the time. and he definitely didn't start against hawaii

We will only get to see 1 year of newton. tebow stayed all 4 years. talent wise i say equal. dependability wise i say tebow. final answer
Tebow
