This is an overblown myth, IMO. Even during the pinnacle during roughly 2008-2010, I don't think the hate was necessarily geared towards TT himself. The problem was the ESPN in particular but the media at large just WOULD.NOT.STOP. forcing him down out throats ALL.THE.TIME!!!!! 24/7, round the clock coverage of tebow. What's he doing, how's he feeling, where's he going, what'd he eat for breakfast, what clothes did he wear today, and on and on and on. Eventually you just get frickin repulsed by it and are like "enough TT dammit".

But again I don't see how you could possibly dislike the guy himself, just seems like a terrific dude by all acounts. It was the unavoidable round the clock lovefest that got tiring.

Did they not crack and make fun of him for kneeling and praying?

Well, did they? Were sports broadcasters on CBS or ESPN television mocking the idea of prayer and calling Tebow a fool for believing in God? I don't remember that happening.

In what way is he a "target?" How has his life been negatively effected by this "targeting?" He got to have his dream job, became a multimillionaire, and now has a second high profile, lucrative job working for the people who are supposedly out to get him.

I dislike him but not because of his faith, I dislike him because I think he's fake as hell, he was absolutely soliciting a prostitute then said he was just trying to throw holy water on her, he's done all those photos without shirts on working out and football pants unzipped underwear showing....then says he just was trying to inspire, If he wants to do that stuff it's fine with me but stop acting like your the second coming

See, I do not understand this because I just turn the shite off.

I've never had Tim Tebow forced down my throat as a result.

He is the man. I'll never understand the hate people on this board direct at him. It just makes no sense.

I understand that people got tired of all the feel good stories that came out about him, but he didn't put them out there. The media did.

Understood, but that wasn't his fault. people hated him because of what the media did that was beyond his control.

You;ll have to provide a link to that...because I am 100% positive that never happened. You're making stuff up, now.

Love me some Tim Tebow. Not surprising at all that he would do something like this. Dude walks the walk.

Is this what you are talking about?

The article was presented as a real news story, and many readers fell for the farce, but there is no truth here: Tim Tebow was not arrested for soliciting a prostitute.

The Daily Leak is a humor website that publishes fake news stories such as” Obama Eats Ice Cream in Front of Hungry Orphans,” “Child Sees No Reason Why Iron Man Costume Can’t Be Worn to Grandfather’s Funeral,” and “Video Game Violence Saves the World from Violent Video Games.” A disclaimer on the website’s FAQ section states that all articles are meant for “entertainment purposes only.”

Story the above references:
Friday evening, the former Denver Broncos Quarterback Tim Tebow, was arrested for solicitation of a prostitute.

The Sheriff’s Department arrested Tim Tebow, the 27 year old religious icon and former Florida Gators star quarterback, on Friday at a Super 8 on the outskirts of Jacksonville.

The former Heisman winner could face jail time, probation, and possibly a fine after being detained. ESPN has consequently put Tebow on indefinite probation from his job as an SEC Network analyst.

Tebow is expected to resign from ABC’s morning show Good Morning America. He worked as a contributor on the “Motivate Me Monday” series, which focuses on our nation’s stories that deserve to be celebrated. Sources close to Tebow say he is expected to apologize in an open letter for the “inappropriate sexual encounter.”

Dude. You are about as gullible as they come.

I feel ya fam. I’m not sure everyone understands the point you’re making. It isn’t about some “Happy Holidays” conspiracy.

I'm not a Christian and I like Tebow. I think he's a good dude. He'd still be just as good of a guy even if he were not a Christian. I've never had any issue with him. I just had issues with people who said "look how he professes his faith. He has to be good.". His faith is not what makes him good. His actions do that.

That dude is a national treasure. I'd be proud as hell if he was an Auburn guy.

I could see that and normally I'd say the same for Alabama's behalf but I am glad he went to Florida instead of coming to Alabama.

The Tim Tebow Foundation put in ANight to Shine last night in Alexandria It is basically a prom for special needs kids. It is an amazing event.

They did it at our church last night. Wife works it every year and can't stop talking about the smiles on those kids' faces each year.
