None of those players played top-15 defenses week-in and week-out either.

Mallett's stat lines against the 3 best defenses he has played:

vs. Alabama 12-35 (34.3%) for 160 yds w/ 1 TD and 1 INT

vs. Florida 12-27 (44.4%) for 224 yds w/ 1 TD and 0 INT

vs. Ole Miss 12-34 (35.3%) for 254 yds w/ 1TD and 0 INT

Against E. Michigan, aTm, and Troy, he has 12 passing TDs, over half of his total. Throw in UGA, who also has a pitiful defense, and its 17 of his 23 passing TDs. So yes, Mallett is wrecking those top 15 defenses.

+1

He's feasting on shitty defenses just like EVERY other Petrino QB has done. Mallett is as much of a system QB as guys like Chris Redman, Stefan Lefors and Brian Brohm. The difference being that Mallett is a system QB with a rocket arm and NFL potential.

And, yes, before you say it, Tebow is also a system QB. But he's shown he can carry his team to a championship level of play, which Mallett has not.

I can't wait to see these Gators and Gumps cry when Colt wins the HT over pooor Timmy and Ingram. Suddenly, stats will matter. Preemptive frick yous all around.

Technically, the best passing defense we have played this year was South Carolina(at the time), and he lit them up.

And does it need to be mentioned that this is his FIRST YEAR to play in the SEC? It's scary to know what he is going to do next season.

I don't know of any Gator fans who expect Tebow to win it. So here is a nice "frick you" right back at ya.

i dont care if Colt wins over Tebow, I don't think Tebow deserves it and I want him to be completely focused on the NC game if we win the SEC.

Just bored, and it annoys me when people fall back on stats as justification for calling a player the best. It usually means they don't know anything about football, and numbers are pretty easy to talk about. The funny thing is, I think Mallett is a better QB than Tebow in regards to skill set. He has also suffered from having a lot of receivers with poor concentration and butterfingers this year. I just think you would be crazy to take a first year starter over a senior with 2 NC rings and a Heisman trophy.

Come on man...you know Tebow's mighty 24-14 win over SC was a show!

14-24 for 199 and 1

16 rushes for 26 yards...a 1.6 ypc clip.

Plus, he's a Senior. Don't forget that now. Suddenly to some that is even relevant lmao

That lost to stats last season when Sam won the HT...who then lost HTH in the NCG.

Wonder how Gators reacted to that here last Dec. and Jan...

For the purpose of awarding All-SEC honors, 9 out of 10 times.

Then this is the year they (the SEC) get it right.

BTW. Where exactly does it state that ALL-SEC awards are based purely off of production.

1st Chapter- Why Darren McFadden was the best running back in history.

2nd Chapter- How to express your hatred towards Houston Nutt regardless of the context of discussion.

3rd Chapter- How to convince people that you will be much better next year while making them forget that's exactly what you said last year.

You're the first to mention him in a month

You're the first to inject his name in this thread

3rd Chapter- How to convince people that you will be much better next year while making them forget that's exactly what you said last year.

How ironic...
