Iona should make the tourney again. Probably not as good overall, but Pitino is Pitino.

They still have a future lottery pick and Bruce Pearl. They can beat anyone in the SEC or win it in general.

Today is day 1 of the 16th ESPN Events Invitational basketball tourney
It has Alabama vs Iona and Kansas/NT on the other side of the bracket
Will we meet for the trophy??

My thoughts on Bama
-Defense is not nearly as good as last year, getting gary back should help.
- Shakelford worked hard on his dribble drive, much improved. He's more patient with it now and even passes out of it sometimes.
- Keon is a lottery pick.
- JD excellent vision, passer and finisher. Surprisingly has trouble beating his man in half court. His crossover is slow and his footwork and dribbling is average. He can learn a lot from Quinerly on driving. Will still be late first round as is due to upside.
- Miles may be a first rounder at some point. Needs to learn D.
- Look for the pick and roll game with big man to improve and add another dimension to the O.
Only seen one AU game and no MSU games yet. Jabari is top five pick for good reason. Kessler will help this team but he looks a bit out of place on a Pearl team. The guards appear to be a weak spot.
