Good discussion....I'll get back to you on this. But, first, I'm calling bullshite on Klaus the Cornerback.

Calls like this are great because they don't really matter, Alabama was stomping a shithole in Moo St.

EDIT: I played FB back in rec league football. I was a badass, till everyone else kept growing and I didn't

I'm sure when an MSU fan gets his eyes on this he will start claiming how we cheated.

The bottom line is that the CB's right arm may or may not have been wrapped around the receivers waist. From the picture it looks like interference, but you can't make a proper conclusion unless you see video evidence.

First you said:

And the picture clearly shows the cb interfering with the wr 'before' the ball was tipped.

Do you have whiplash from doing a 180 reversal that fast.

Some already were saying this Saturday, but cuz of the kickoff return not this play. I believe the words were, "Bama refs did good. Out of bounds my arse!!"

No, someone stated that these pictures are after he tipped the ball. Pay attention old man

...which has nothing to do with your expert opinion.

You might want to try Bill's "what 'is' is" argument....that's all you have left.

since we are discussing this, I realize face guarding is legal in college but does anyone else like that or not?

I said the pictures show pass interference. But we don't know if the pictures were taken before or after a 'tipped' ball. So if the ball was tipped prior to the cb making contact, it clearly isn't pass interference. I also said that you can't make a ruling on pictures alone.

What exactly is your point?

But it's a picture, if we erased the safety making a badass leap it would look a little more like PI, wouldn't it?

Yes, it would look more like it. Any time a defender or a blocker is in what's called "chase mode", the chances of a foul go up dramatically.

quote:

I'm just looking at the DB having left his feet and touching the WR.. that's going to effect the WR eventually, the question is when. If the ball wasn't tipped.. wouldn't that be PI?

The contact warrants close scrutiny. The bottom line question is "Did it impede the receiver's opportunity to the ball"? The only thing Klaus posted that makes sense is you have to see the whole play to determine whether it's DPI.

Take a look at THIS
Classic DPI and an example of an arm bar. When a receiver reaches for a ball with one hand, you can almost bet the defender is locking up the other......
