that’s like half the games every season and also not true. The stadium was never empty, but there were plenty of seats empty on the upper level and a spattering of seats a around the lower bowl for most games.

Half the games every season? It was literally 1 game a season. We played 11 games, 3 OOC games, 1 of them in Birmingham and 1 of them was always Southern Miss. The Tuscaloosa OOC non-USM home games were UCF in 2000, UCLA in 2001, North Texas in 2002 and Northern Illinois in 2003.

For most games? I mean that just isn't true. The only time it applied was the bad OOC game, maybe Southern Miss depending on whether it was the September game or whether it was played late in year, and the late season Miss St game if we were both bad.

I really don't care either way, but I went to all of those games and was a pretty big nerd about that stuff as a kid and young adult, and we were all pissed off all the time anyway and looking for things to be mad about in terms of attendance.

I guess my memory is bad, but I only remember 4-6 games each season in Tuscaloosa.

The Birmingham games had plenty of empty seats.

1999 - 7 home games (5 Tuscaloosa, 2 Birmingham)
2000 - 6 home games (4 Tuscaloosa, 2 Birmingham)
2001 - 7 home games (5 Tuscaloosa, 2 Birmingham)
2002 - 7 home games (6 Tuscaloosa, 2 Birmingham) (12th game added)
2003 - 8 home games (7 Tuscaloosa, 1 Birmingham)

We approved adding 9,000 seats to our stadium in the middle of this stretch. That wouldn't make a lot of sense if there wasn't demand for it (which there was, as we kept filling seats).

Honestly I think Alabama fans were more excited about going to more games back then than they are now. I know a part of me was, at least until it was absolutely clear that we were terrible/average (which generally happened post-Tennessee).

What's the point here? Maximum capacity in Bryant Denny in 2005 was 81,018 due to the construction of the upper deck. They had to remove about 2,000 seats from the top of the end-zone for the 2005 season to build the deck.

He doesn't have one. He's searching for anything to grab hold of to prove a point but he has no idea what he's talking about.

Because Legion Field was a hole, and the area around the stadium couldn't have been much worse than it was.

Didn't Saban complain about empty stadium/fans leaving at half time a couple years ago?
