List is crap. tRant is crap for not mentioning Miami or The U. They were the most hated team in the country from the mid 80s to the early 2000s. Who in the ever lovin hell ever thinks about Aggy, other than the day before you play them? No one outside of the Carolina's hates Clemson... really liked the Bowden bowl during that era.

1a and 1b for Bama and Ohio State... Bama for their obnoxious inbred Wal-Mart fans and Ohio state for their inbred obnoxious Wal-Mart fans.

Yea you're right, I think my compass is off. Spending too much time around UGA and USC fans and not enough with other folks who don't have an ACC rival.

East coast is full of basketball junkies, pretty sure they are all aware UK is in the SEC, especially with the long historic ties there.

1. Alabama - how can you not like Alabama?
2. Notre Dame - how much is the football and how much is the catholic hate?
3. Ohio State - should be #1
4. Michigan - so long since they mattered is there really hate outside of Ohio?
5. Florida State - since Bowden I can see them in the Top 10
6. Texas - probably should be #3 (4 if you put them behind the Irish)
7. Texas A&M - maybe in austin but not sure they create hate across the US
8. Penn State - is this just for the pedo stuff?
9. Oregon - hating Phil Knight is different that hating Oregon
10. Clemson - arse grabbing sheep humpers seems worthy of a spot

Trojans should be in the Top 3 but if Sooners and Vols made it much would be attributed to overplaying their songs as anything else. With the Line Beards now in a P5 it will be interesting to see if the hate spreads from regional to national.

I don't see that happening.
Not in football that's for sure.

You could make a similar argument for Detroit to some extent but Chicago is Notre Dame first with is probably why the B1G had such a hard on to add them for the last 50 years

I believe one of the reasons that Notre Dame will not join the Big10 is the anti-Catholic bias the Big 10 had early on in the last century. It is also the reason why ND plays Navy and Army so much, those two accepted ND.

UC dropped out of the Big Ten in 1939, so it might be possible that the Manhattan project was part of the reason, but I do not think so. Oak Ridge, Tn., was doing the enrichment, and the project was placed in New Mexico.

There are a lot of reasons why I hate Ohio State, and none of them are because I'm not an Ohio State fan.

I would imagine most of the anti-Catholic stuff has been forgotten especially with how Catholic the Big Ten is compared to the other conference options ND had available to them during the last round of realignment.

I think a bigger factor is what they saw happen to Penn State. Penn State had east coast rivals and a powerful brand within the nation and region built on their independent status. They did ok joining the Big Ten but haven't seen near the glory they had before membership and many of the east coast connections suffered which is part of the reason the conference added MD and Rutgers.

Notre Dame would rather be the big fish in a partnership with a smaller pond like the ACC than be an also ran next to Michigan and Ohio State.

Lol I love that.

NYC really trying to make a push with that. (Billboards about this being "BIG TEN COUNTRY)
Funny because CUSE also tries that "THIS IS NYCS TEAM"

It's funny because even Rutgers grads don't care about the football team. They prefer the Giants or Jets.

Yea the TV thing was dumb but it got them paid. What's even funnier about it is that cord cutting is going to completely change that way of thinking in 10-15 years and I'm not sure that the BTN viewership reasoning will be seen as worth it then.

In 2012 Barry Alvarez confirmed that Penn State agitation was part of the motivation in adding Rutgers LINK so at least they're happy with it.
