A lot of it was probably the fact that he can't just be a good football player and make a play, he has to stand over top of the opponent and taunt. So f*** him
Well... can't say I disagree. Lots of taunting for a "push in the chest with 2 hands" as some LSU folks are saying. Clearly he hit helmet to helmet.
Was it a brutal hit? No. Is this against the rules? Apparently it is in the pussification of football that has been going on in this country.

White clearly hits Fitz in the head with his helmet thus the penalty. Thanks for clearing that up. Replay nailed it. If you have a problem then petition the rules committee to change them.

Had the same thing happen vs Arkansas this year. Except Tua got the 1st down before sliding and they marked him like a yard short.
Happens both ways.

quote:You're actually joking right now! The ignorance on this board defending Wilson's hit is laughable. Devin White's helmet never touched Fitzjerald's helmet and that's shown clearly in slow motion, plus the mother fricker lead with his HANDS TO HIS CHEST to avoid a targeting call.
White went helmet to facemask, Wilson didn't.
Pathetic.

Look man Wilson's head hit his chest. Even Gary Danielson, a former qb said it was a clean hit.

Well, except for the fact that the Targeting rules states forceable contact to the head or neck area, which was clearly what happened in the Alabama/Tenn game as the player launched the crown of his helmet into the QB's chin, while White hit Fitzgerald with his forearms arms in his nipples.
Maybe you can understand why we are puzzled??

No, aggies are strange. Neither of these were targeting.

Yeah, I agree with that. I have not been attacking White's hit but rather defending Wilson's hit. Just to be clear.
