What do you want to debate? That our receivers won't be wide open? Maybe not, but we can still complete passes against semi covered receivers.
I love it when we do not get credit. It actually makes me smile. Semi covered... Like we did against UT. Held their both top WRs to 4 combined catches. You allowed just 1 of them more than that, yet MSU semi covers.
Now let me help you.. here's where you say and they ran it down your throats.

We did it against LSU with a less talented receiver group and against a better defense.
We have the 2 leading pick guys in the SEC?
quote:
The Oline is older, the QB is older and better, and the receivers are better.
Here is where MSU fans differ from Bama fans. Yes you do have a older QB, and a older OL... nobody is doubting that.

Like I said... Bama better hope so!

We did it against an Lsu team with an entire season of domination on their resume, not a team with "the interception leaders" 7 weeks in with victories over the deaf dumb and blind

but IMO your LB coverage has looked like a glaring weakness to me this season, you just haven't gone against personnel that could consistently exploit it.
This!

I don't expect us to be able to move it very effectively on the ground or to our outside receivers. If we can't complete these passes, it will be a long day for us offensively
A logical statement. Even with making them respect the pass, they are good up front on D.

And that same team with the same QB who is with out Maze this season threw a pick to our defense!
What the hell is your point?

You have the two leading pick guys in the SEC?
Wow!!! Yet your amazing D has given up 14 points to Kentucky, 24 to Troy, and 31 to UT. Bama hasn't given up 14 points but to one team.
You got any stats or proof that doesn't involve UT. Cause mine against UT involve a 44-13 beat down vs a 41-31 close game.
Did you guys force bray to go bench riding 4th
Quarter?

If you think maze and hanks are greater than Cooper,,
Norwood, Bell, and the two C. Jones then you are in for a LONG day.

Darkhorse has to be the biggest idiot on the rant. Your "knowledge" of football is laughable. Lacy and Yeldon will be getting 6 yards a pop by half time. You will have to load the box. Bama's offense isnt dumb and will throw away from Banks on PA to a match up they like. When you play Bama you have to take what they dictate and hope to contain it because their back ups are more talented than everyone else in the league minus UF/LSU and maybe UGA and USCe.
Bama's o line isn't all world but its good enough to enforce their will on a less talented d line. And yes I realize we stayed within 3 TD against Bama because they went, as you say, vanilla in the 2nd half.

You know damn well UT had lost that game before they showed up. We will know more about both teams tomorrow so save the arguing when you completely fail to look at anything other than the box score. We will see how good or bad each team is in less that 24 hours. Don't be surprised when you don't have the linebackers to cover 5 different receivers at once. I can promise you Bama will not be in Nickel like you have had the luxury of doing about 70% of the season, you will get burned if you try. You will learn more about your defense Saturday than you have in the previous 6 games and you should be looking forward to that, I expect the Bama D to show some looks that we haven't seen yet from them.

Anything other than the box score? We own you in every category there is except for turnover margin and even that is very close. What stats do you want to debate?
There just isn't much worth bringing up cause you will resort to grinding. Which I appreciate, you have probably given us more locker room material than any team in the last two years.

Well I must go to bed grinders. Got a long drive to T-town in the morning. I'll be sitting straight across from the visitor section. Maybe I can see some grinded faces when we score in the north endzone. Don't leave early, I want you there for rammer jammer.

Yes and no, I said the described situation sounded like the defense was in a nickel package. One of you said Moncreif was alone wide on the strong side of the field with a safety and corner both lined up on the same side. I still will hold to my claim that good defenses don't double team receivers from the line all the way out in man. It in no way makes sense.
ETA: you're right the link is very vanilla for lack of a better word, I just googled something to link so I didn't have to type a paragraph. Which I ended up doing anyway.
